works great.Saves so much time.
First of all, it is an original Moen product. Very good price! Without the cartridge puller, it would be impossible to remove the cartridge, as the cartridge's rubber oval was broken inside the pipe, causing it to be stuck! It took a while and a lot of work to remove it!
CARTRIDGES WERE STUCK BUT GOOD, CAME RIGHT OUT WITH TOOL.
Works well with some cartridges, poorly with others. I only have experience with the 1225 and 1222 cartridges. (This device is recommended for both). It did a great job in removing (3) 1225 cartridges. However, it's a very poor match for the 1222. The 1225 has a significantly smaller diameter body and gets pulled into the body of the puller. The 1222 however, has a larger diameter body and does not fit into the puller. Tightening the nut on the puller just causes the front of the cartridge to smash up against the puller . While the cartridge did come out about 1/8" it could not be removed any further. I had to call a plumber. He agreed the puller doesn't work as is with the 1222, and then showed me a trick. He puts (2) 1/4" X 1/4" square bars against the fitting holding the cartridge. By keeping these bars far enough apart; using the cartridge puller, he can now pull the cartridge between the bars and out another 1/4". Now he was able to grasp the cartridge with small pipe wrench and pull it fully out.
