This company is more environmentally conscious than others. I buy it for that reason. It tastes the same as any Otranto and cooks fine.
Only brand I buy. Great for the price .
We have a 2 year old son and are very health concious when it comes to his diet. Nutrtionaly this item is what we want. And he loves it.
Love the taste of this oatmeal and it also smells like an oatmeal cookie when you open the container. Much better than its over processed counterparts.
Best inexpensive oatmeal.
After quakers situation w/ monsanto causing cancer to the latest salmonella product recall i had to switch to another brand of oatmeal, tastes exactly the same!
Mom's Best Old Fashioned Oats, 42 OZ Canister This is a great price and I don't find the taste any different than the others, I cook with it though don't really eat it as just oatmeal. But it is great for cholesterol has fiber and is heart healthy I will purchase again.
Very quick, great price %26 fits a busy lifestyle.
Quick Oats Tasted Like Soap 2x We're unsure what the root cause is, so will stop purchasing quick oats until this issue can be explained and controlled by the manufacturer. This whole experience has been negative and costly. We have eaten oats for years, never an issue. Early this year we started putting Mom's Quick Oats (dry) in our morning yogurt. (Had switched to Mom's because no sugar added %26 less fat and calories than the other brands). All was good, our yogurt was tasty %26 healthier and helped in improving our health and weight loss efforts. BUT now we found with repeated batches in past two months [Oct %26 Nov] - our yogurt mix has been tasting like there is strong dish soap residue in it. Our guests and family had complained of abdominal cramping and related issues after eating the mixture. 1) The first time we thought it was dishwasher soap residue (that didn't fully rinse), so rewashed all of the bowls %26 utensils. 2) But no, the next day - same soapy taste. We thought it was the organic frozen berries, so threw away the three bags of strawberries, blueberries %26 blackberries. 3) No, yet again the next day our yogurt mix had the same soapy taste. Thought the issue was either the Chobani or store brand yogurt, so dumped the mix again and threw those 3 containers away. 4) So the soap taste went away - but this week the SOAP TASTE IS BACK. Found the issue by chance through a friend, who suggested checking the oats... %26 discovered IT WAS THE OATS - the container that was newly opened this week! So we dumped out the yogurt mix, and smelled the oats container... and it incredibly smells like it tasted - SOAPY!!! The contaminated oat container smells heavily like soapy chemicals [best by APR0925; purchased Oct 12]. We opened the second container we just bought, and this newer container smells only like fresh oats [best by APR1325; purchased Nov 7]. [Unknowing, we apparently had finished the prior container of contaminated Oats last month - and started another container without realizing that THE OATS WERE THE CULPRIT ALL ALONG!!!!]
I bought this oatmeal to try because the cereal is so good. I was halfway through my bowl and I realized it had bugs in it. I can't eat oatmeal now. Nor can I eat there cereal. So check it. And make sure there are no bugs in it. Yuck!
