Great product.....great taste, great texture. Others who say they are mushy are clearly cooking them too long. I use these for tacos and burritos and pasta dishes and they are perfect. If you are looking for burgers, get the pre-packaged burgers.
These MorningStar Veggie Crumblers used to be better. Now, they are a mushy mess when being cooked rather than a “ground” texture. The appearance is more of a shaved meat texture like pulled or shaved pork. The smell while cooking is of warmed, wet dog food. I should know as that is what I feed my little dog. I cannot get past the smell and will be looking for another brand for grounds. Other MorningStar products are ok (sausage, chicken, etc.).
Smells really funky. Idk if it played a factor in my taste buds and the texture by just the smell. Definitely would not recommend P.s. used it for sloppy joes
For years I used the Morningstar Farms crumbles in place of everything from hamburger to pork (in my meatless meat pies). But with the change from vegetarian to vegan formula, when you cook the crumbles now, they just become this gross mushy mess. So disappointing. I will no longer be buying this product and will be looking for another vegetarian option for my lasagna, spaghetti sauce, and my meatless meat pies. You may have pleased some people when you went vegan, but not all of us.
I have been using Griller Crumbles for decades as a substitute for ground beef in spaghetti, enchiladas and soups. You all keep changing them for the worse. This time, it looked exactly like canned cat food while I was cooking them, and took twice as long to heat through. They ruined our meal that night. Quit trying to improve the nutrition profile. People who want health food probably won't be eating this stuff, and many of us are happy with something reasonably healthier than ground beef. And flavor and texture are still incredibly important elements for a meat substitute. But if you're going to give me cat food, I'll either use real ground beef, or find another soy-based substitution.
Not so much the product. More of how it was delivered to me. The side was busted open an placed in a bag anyway and then into another bags with the rest of my thins.
Walmart sent me expired Morning Star crumbles. They were 3 months expired. Come on Walmart, please check for expired items being sent out to customers.
This gives a 1 Star!! The Texture is MUSHY!! The flavor is DISGUSTING %26 Trust me I know how to Season but Nothing made this APPETIZING. Do not buy this if your looking for a “Ground Beef” I Recommend you buy the Gardein BEEF-Less Crumbles!! 10x better and I swear by it!!
Taste terrible. I am a fan of most of their products, but this taste horrible. My dogs love it though so they will eat this purchase mistake.
This was substituted for turkey sausage crumbles on my Online order and I thought, well, I'll give it a try. I'm not a picky eater and open to new tastes, and I like other meat substitute foods, but this did not taste good in a simple egg cheese omelet. Maybe I'll bury it in oils and veggies and add real bacon next time but that defeats the purpose, so most likely scenario is trash can boogie.
