I've had this phone for over 3 years now (!) and still love it! The only reason it is no longer active (I now only use it for wifi or a backup phone), is because LG decided not to update the operating system any longer. Which means that many apps no longer work with it because they no longer support the older android version. It was the fastest phone on the market for a while, and the first to have quad core. Great task interface to post directly from email invitations. Super easy setup, great screen and the size was small enough to fit in your purse pocket, but large enough to view. If LG had decided to continue updating the operating system, I would still be using it! Every time I used this phone in front of someone else, I got complements on not only how it looked, but all the various functions it had, many of them hidden. While this phone was in it's heyday, it was pretty much unbeatable for form, function and beauty. I will miss it very much in my everyday organizing. So, what did I replace it with? Why, an LG V10! Another great phone, even if it is larger than I wanted. The functions this phone has is almost unbelievable, and LG will be upgrading the operating system to Nougat in the fall of 2017. Actually bought three of these for each of my three daughters. Two at one purchase and one at another. They have performed and run swimmingly since. Also because of the great price, I was able to keep things fair and thus avoid bickering due to jealousy. Thanks Walmart for taking one more stresser out of my Christmas!
Not had it long but so far ok will know more when go on trip gps worked fine camera could be better but for the price it is fine It is first touch screen phone so still learning
This phone has great hardware and a lot of good ideas and features were added to android (at least compared to my previous android phone, the Atrix 2) that were terribly implemented and buggy. Dealing with this phone is incredibly annoying. First of all if you get a call while talking to someone switching the call lags, you press the button to switch to the call waiting and it is about 2-4 seconds before the call switches. To make it more frustrating the answer button turns into the hangup button after the call switches so if you hit the answer button twice thinking it didn't register the first time because of the delay it will hang up immediately after answering. If the person you are talking to hangs up while you are trying to switch to the call waiting the phone freezes until the call waiting is missed. The text message function has a nice feature that brings up a preview of the text on your home screen with the option to reply directly from the preview without having to leave your home screen. However the notification of a new text remains after you reply forcing you to go into the texting app anyway to clear the new text notification which really defeats the purpose. If you are in a texting conversation with someone and lock the screen without leaving the texting app you no longer get vibration or ringer notification of any incoming texts. This has forced me to go back to the home screen after every text so that I will be able to tell when the next one comes without staring at my phone. (this does not happen all the time, but the vast majority) Scrolling through the contacts list can be choppy when trying to scroll fast. With the kind of hardware here this is totally inexcusable. Another example of a great idea poorly implemented is a feature that automatically turns down the media volume if headsets are plugged in with media volume at max. This would be nice except I only use my phone as a music player in my car meaning I either have to turn up my phone volume every time I plug in my phone or remember to turn down my car volume so my ears don't get blown off when I switch to the radio or CD player. This feature cannot be disabled. Battery life can be a bit low for heavy users, I just keep a charger with me and plug it in whenever in my car or sitting at a desk for a long time. I am a heavy user of my phone and have rarely had it die before I go to bed. The front screen is invincible... I am tough on my phones and not a scratch on it. The back was scratched by velcro although didn't cause anything but cosmetic damage. Got a nice case for it and now I don't think I could break it if I tried. I have seriously considered trying to sell this phone to buy the Nexus 4 and have the unadulterated version of Android while keeping the awesome hardware and overall quality of the Optimus G (Nexus 4 is very similar) however the lack of LTE capability in the Nexus 4 is a major issue. I am holding on to hope that LG will fix the multitude of issues in the features and software in this phone. If they do it has the potential to be a really top notch phone. Greatness is only an update away
The lgE970 has issues with the SD card constantly mounting and un-mounting on its own. I have lost media files due to this issue. The window always comes on showing such. This is a huge nuisance. I had the same problem with the first phone and sent it in under warranty and the phone sent to me has the same issue. I will never buy an lg smart phone again.
couldn't make a 911 call when my son needed an ambulance. my friends texts and calls and my childrens when they need me don't come through nor even show up as missed calls. my texts and calls to my friends are not received. Net 10 needs to improve and deliver. this was my 4th phone in 2 months and so far this one is the one that works the best... so how bad were the other ones if this one is the good one?
It would have been nice to know that before I bought it. I now have to find a way to return it. I am NOT happy right now. I found this info out after I went to activate it.
I was told at the local Wal-Mart that I could only use the Net 10 card and not the Straight Talk cards, so I traded it in for a different phone that they had there and it was what I wanted, if you don't care about using the Net 10 cards this would be an ok phone.
I recently purchased this phone and the first day I got it, I tried calling out and it didn't even ring. I coudn't hear anybody on the other end. I called net10 three times and each representative told me to do the same thing and it never worked! I am returning this phone because I am not satisfied with it. Its a horrible phone! Do not recommend to anyone.
I received this phone and it wouldn't activate. I called net10 they argued with me saying the phone was on for two days, then they said the phone was defective for me to call back in 24-48 hours to get a replacement phone. When I called back the manager had no clue what I was talkin about an talked to me like I was an ignorant child, then I was told to return the phone to walmart that there was no coverage in my area even tho the phone is listed as a available phone for my area on there website... I will return the phone and go with straight talk
