We didn't install this yet but we are going to put this on the floor board of our 2002 Ford Ranger to sound proof the cab. The material is very heavy and solid and appears to be very well made. We know that this will be an excellent product and complete the job on our truck. Right now you can hear the road and tires etc. Should be an easy install also material is pliable. We highly recommend this product.
This soundproofing is amazing. Put it on the wall in back of stereo or tv to diminish the sounds to neighbors. OR put it up to block noise from the noises from neighbors, machinery, use in the basement, etc. BE AWARE...This weighs over 50 lbs. It states on the box "Team Lift".
This product works! Great use in a basement /entertainment room. It is black, on a roll and extremely heavy but it's being used in our sound studio in the second bedroom. Use in any space to keep the volume in and not out!
When I ordered this Vinyl Soundproofing roll, I wasn't sure I could use such a large quantity (100 ft-sq) roll, but I found that this material has many other uses beyond the advertised soundproofing! Yes, it does an excellent job in soundproofing so if that is you use, I highly recommend the product. This material cuts easily with a utility knife and is easy to handle. I have made desktop pads for my and my wife's office desks, as well as even larger mats for our deskchairs. Our place is entirely tiled floors, and typical roller desk chairs can easily slide out from beneath you as you sit down or get up. Using this material as floor pads eliminates that problem! (Yet, it does make sliding the chair while sitting in it more difficult - you have to stand up a bit to roll the chair to another area of the office.) I also found use for this material as a workshop pad. I do considerable work with electronics and it is nice to have the black surface to set small electonir components down on - makes seeing such things as metal pins and wires easier to see.
The package required two people to lift it and carry it into the house. The material is VERY heavy, but that makes for very good sound-proofing. You will want to cover it with drywall, wallboard, plywood, or wallpaper - it really is very dark and dingy itself. However, it DOES deaden the sound.
I found this to be easy to cut and use as carpet padding in the family room. It did a great job deadening the sound of the children playing. I cut two separate strips and used carpet double sided tape to secure it. It works wonderfully.

This creates a great sound barrier for blocking out a variety of noises from appliances to music to voices. It makes a big difference in the overall quietness of the environment. The size of the roll is extremely heavy though, so extra help is needed to manage the package when received.
