This phone is the basically the Lumia 521 model but comes with the Windows 8.1 OS already installed. This phone is a fantastic value with a Quad Core processor, GPS, HDef Camera and a very sensitive touch screen. It does a great job with the Netflix and Hulu Plus service and syncs right up to my in home wifi. I bought this phone for my 9 year old daughter since I already had the Lumia 521. I did a lot of shopping around and was going to purchase a Motorola Moto G until I found this model. You can't beat it for all the features it has for this low price. The one thing it does not have is a flash for picture taking which is not a big deal for me. My daughter has used my phone mostly to watch Hulu+ movies and Netflix and to talk and text. She has found the Windows 8.1 OS easy to understand. Basically Windows 8 is follow very similar steps you take when using an Android phone. I know she will be happy with this phone :)
We cannot believe this wonderful phone gets sold at this low price. I was using a Nexus 4, my son uses an iphone. We are both left dazed by this device. At $35, this is an immense value proposition. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP PHONE, just an extremely inexpensive one.Phone works great, setting up emails is a breeze (some hiccup with gmail), bluetooth pairing is quick. Browsing is great. Have not tried GPS and such. If your need is predominantly phoning, texting, and email check / browsing over wi-fi, go for this. T-Mobile has a $3 a month plan. You cant beat it!
$30 phone + $3/month T-Mobile Plan = Unbeatable Value. This is a great phone. The display is hard to see in direct sunlight, but you cannot beat the price as it runs smoothly and includes all of the great Lumia functionality that comes on higher-end devices. Offline GPS! FM Radio! Cortana! Angry Birds! T-Mo's $3/month plan includes a combined 30 minutes/texts a month. Any text or minute beyond that is 10 cents--a bargain. Also, you can buy a week of data for $10. Camera is fine - not great, but better than the snapper on my old Android phone. Seriously, get this phone. Or another Lumia.
This phone is one of the best windows phone in the world: fast, affordable, with great features, what more can a guy want?
I use it to replace a phone that was under contract. AT&T activated the chip it came with for free over the phone. Has a lot of apps to install in it and many can be uninstalled. I like the battery saver it changed my phone from dying over night to just loosing less than 10%. Screen is large enough and clear it also works great for emails and texting. The keyboard is a little small but with suggested words appearing as you type, it gets the job done.
I had trouble with my Alcatel one touch evolve and had to factory reset it at least 4x! I can SURELY say this phone puts the other to shame. It has great qualities with apps, display and the audio making them quick and easy to learn. It does better by keeping good battery life as well, I can keep this one up and running for more than a day with no problem. It helps out when I need to go to a store or a restaurant when I'm traveling as well by showing me local places to go. It also helps when I need to text someone or search the web by using voice commands. To sum it all up, it's the best phone I owned!
overall, a phone better suited to someone who uses their phone for more general applications. The app store for the phone itself is somewhat lacking, but some decent ones, including the more popular games. The platform is Windows 8, which explains the somewhat sparse app store. I required an SD card for more memory for what I needed, but those can be found in most Walmarts. Overall, a good value for the money.
I bought one for my husband and daughter and they seem to love it, pretty easy to use, I have an Android phone, but I maybe converted myself, I don't need a expensive phone, I and this phone fits that, so next time the price drops I maybe getting me one :)
There are only 2 negative comments I have, the first is the phone doesn't come with a owners manual. You have to go online and download to read, in twenty years I have never had a phone that didn't come with the manual. Second this phone is the only one that turns back on when you plug it to charge. I called Nokia because I thought it was only my phone, but was told it was made that way. It has a good battery life, I spoke with my daughter for 6 hours and still had more battery life. And with all the phone has you really can't beat the price.
The phone has all the features expensive phones have like Cortona and it's a windows phone, great touch screen and camera. Actually better than my Samsung Galaxy. I am surprised it sells so cheap. I wish I would have bought this phone sooner. It also works with regular T-Mobile service not just prepaid.
