October Sky is an excellent film based on a true story. Sputnik and the ensuing space race serve as the historical background in the lives of miners and their families living in the company town circa 1957.

Highly recommended for today's young generation, fed with propaganda and various false values by our so-called education system. The movie is based on true story which adds more positive vibe. These kinds of movies should be shown at schools to motivate our kids instead of demoralizing them.
