Ultimately, it worked as planned. However, even with an electric drill, I was unable to get the surface as smooth as it should have been. It maintained a gritty texture. Will try again and see if anything changes. I do think that using a clear version for the areas near skin is a good approach for a finished look. I also suggest you don't literally dip into the powder - even at the 45 degree angle. I found that when I sprinkled the powder over my nail, it left a cleaner finish. The base coat dries faster than you think so do one nail at a time and move fast.
So the base coat was smooth and sticky as expected. The powder was very fine. Even though I stirred it there were white streaks on a nail. The activator was effective. But the topcoat is AWFUL! It goes on very thick. It burns like fire. And it bubbles and never left a smooth finish! I switched to a different topcoat and it is much better.
This was a terrible purchase I was unable to return because I didnt use it as soon as I purchased. Smells like super glue and is very sticky. Nothing like the real thing. Im sure they are filling their bottles w it. All three bottles have the same smell and consistency. My fingers got stuck together
