I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this rack! It is a much heavier gauge wire than I thought, and is nicely chromed. The joints are nearly invisible. It is extremely sturdy..no wobble whatsoever, even fully loaded. I am using it for a rotation system of canned goods, so the top load feature helps keep the oldest cans at the bottom. The only downside feature is the open back. If you load too fast, the cans can fall out the back instead of dropping down to the lower level. I found that it helps to load up the lower level first, then add to the top. Overall, this is an excellent product, and I will be ordering a couple more to complete my pantry organization.
Got this for our work fridge to dispense both coke and diet coke in the most compact place. If space is a concern, this will work well. It's sturdy, much better than the plastic ones of the past. I had hoped it would also hold cans the size of progresso soup cans but they are too thick :(
Love this item! My husband use to take up the crisper for beer & pop. Now I have my crisper for veggies!! It also makes refilling easy & u always know which one's the coldest. & the finish is nice and shiny.
It is very sturdy and fits right above one vegetable bin in the fridge - perfect size! The only problem we're having is the cans do not rotate around the back from the top to the bottom - they get stuck and you have to pull the shelf forward and straighten the can.
We actually bought this thinking we could use it for canned goods and found that we had to manipulate it a little and now it works fine for canned vegetable, soup, some fruit cans, etc. would be nice if one were made especially for canned goods. We ordered more and will just make them work for us.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. I purchased several and am able to stack one on top of the other. Because I set it up so that the back end is up against a wall, I'm also able to put 26 cans in the rack instead of only 24, without any of them falling off. The only problem I have with this rack, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars is that if you don't put the can in perfectly straight (horizontally) and let it roll, then it turns sideways and gets stuck. Then, you can't add other cans until you've fixed this. If the manufacturers added just a little more metal, as a guard, this wouldn't happen. It might increase the cost a tiny tiny bit, but it would be worth it. I still really like this product, am glad that I bought it, and would recommend it to others.
I like everything about this product except that it took a pretty good hit during transit. It sustained some significant damage that I was inable to fix. I am going to return this item for another one. I do like the beverabe dispenser and I plan to replace this one with a new one.
Ordered 3, excited to find these online, they aren't in the store anymore. Unfortunately, cans don't flow easily. I had to get the pliers out and put some red neck ingenuity into it. Finally got it to work, if I hadn't have already been looking for these for weeks I would have sent them back. Buy at your own risk. They may or may not work for you.
I purchased two of these hoping for the best. One of them had a missing rail on the top can row so the cans would just fall through. I will be returning it. The other one has one side that works flawlessly, but the other side has a tendency to spin the can horizontally as it falls down to the shelf below. This spin action ends you with a can standing straight up and down preventing any further advancement and requiring you to reach back to straighten it out. I like the design using metal wires to help conduct cooling and having the cans exposed in the fridge makes me believe they chill faster than leaving them in the cardboard boxes they are purchased in. Ultimately I think I will return both of these and get two of the individual 12-can dispensers so I can deal with their returns individually until I get two that work. You do lose storage capacity compared to putting suitcases of cans in the fridge but I do enjoy the convenience of loading warm cans in as needed. My initial thought was that I can easily put 48 cans in their cardboard containers so I should be able to fit two dispensers in, but I was wrong. I can only fit a single 24 can dispenser. Another feature is that you can cycle cans through to get to the ones you want if you have different flavors mixed together in the same row. Also the rack on top makes for a nice storage place. I had them delivered to the store for free shipping and if Wal-mart stands by their word I should have no trouble getting my returns and replacements handled. I would recommend this to a friend but I would tell them to buy a 12 pack when they pick it up. Open the package at the store and run the 12 pack through it to make sure it works before you leave. On my units, the side that works shows me that it is a good product, when it works, just make sure you get a working unit before you leave.
The rails are about 3/4in wider than the average 12oz coke/pepsi/beer can causing them to fall between the guides during loading. This also happens when the cans feed from the upper level to the lower. I'm going back to my 12can plastic despenser. Great idea, but underperforms.
