We bought the Misting Fan for my husbands fathers day gift and have used it 3 times so far. It makes the hot, humid day feel a lot cooler and you can enjoy sitting outside during the cookout without needing to go inside to the AC. The trick to the fan is to turn your water on low, the higher you turn the hose up the more water comes out and you could get really wet if you turn it up so I suggest for a mist, turn the hose on a very little at a time until you get your perfect mist. We really love this product.
We've only used 1 time so far, but, we will be using this a lot this summer! The mist is very refreshing, but like everyone says, put it far enough away so you don't get wet. It immediately cooled the area by what felt like 10-15 degrees and since we can't use a ceiling fan on our patio, this was the perfect substitute. I put a small valve on the hose connection that enables us to turn the water off/on without having to go all the way to the spigot and that is a great convenience the manufactuer might want to add to the fan. They even include extra mist valves so if one gets clogged, you don't have to worry about finding or ordering that small part somewhere.
I was really excited to read the reviews on this product, and how it covers ~600 square feet. It did not cover that much area. Keep in mind we are having a heat wave in the south and perhaps it works better when the temperature is in the 80's. The fan is contructed solidly, and of good quality.
Works great everywhere. Multi-height and speed ffer lots of options. Adjustable fan angle would be nice. Overall great fan .
So far so good. I was concerned about how well this product might work due to how inexpensive it is, and that we will be using it at our river cabin which is supplied with well water. After putting it together I tested it out and was more than satisfied with the amount of mist and power of the fan. I did however buy an inline garden hose filter from another source to keep the sediment from plugging up the misters.
The fan is wonderful but be prepared to use it in a open space. Do not ues it by your picnic table as you will have a soggy hot dog. It definately will cool you. Have a towel handy.
We have these misting fans all over Las Vegas so anytime you go to a restaurant or outdoor venue you can stay cool. I purchased this fan for laying out and for dining on our patio. It works great I just wish I had 2 of them! It is a light mist and can be used without the water as a normal fan too. I would definitely recommend it and I expedited the shipping to get it fast and it came the very next day! My guests were impressed and grateful to be able to stay cool. The only thing I would warn of is to know which direction the wind blows in the location you want to use it because it may not be the same location where your electrical and water connections are. We used an extension cord and hose adapter to be able to move it to the other side of our patio which is no big deal but just be aware that you may need to make adjustments to the mist does not blow in the opposite direction of where you want it to go. Overall awesome product!
We use this fan every day on our deck and it makes a big difference in the temp. We are in the San Antonio, Tx area and the triple digit heat has actually been bearable sitting outside with this mist fan blowing over us. Don't sit too close, you will get wet, but using the fan aprox. 5 to 6 ft. away is perfect. Worth every dollar!
We first used on our camping trip to Sequoia National Park in August when temperatures were quite warm. We pulled up a couple of camp chairs and managed to stay very cool. Even our dog moved under the fan. Cons: Pin to stablize the fan is useless. We never were able to keep it in place. Unless there is a lot of wind or you move the fan a lot, pin really is unnecessary. Also you will get quite wet if you sit close by, along with everything else near it. Biggest con was with Walmart. We had ordered a new fan, but what they sent was obviously a return. Box was in bad shape, inside packaging poorly put back into place (broken foam and missing plastics), and the hose was missing. Fan looked a dirty as if it had been used. We had no time to return as our camping trip was the day it arrived. Luckily we noticed hose was missing before we left and brought our own from home or fan would have been a waste for us. Love the fan, but disappointed in Walmart. One more note: The campers next to us saw our fan and went 50 miles outside of the park to purchase one of their own.
The product was broken when I received it. The warehouse should have checked it out before sending. The fan did not work to expectations. Once you put the mister cover on it blocked the air flow. It did not raise up high enough for my use. Over all it is not worth the money.
