This beard trimmer works very well, actually better than I expected. I choose Panasonic for two reasons *past experience would indicate years of trouble free service and great battery life *I had many years of experience with different divisions of Panasonic and found them to be extremely ethically oriented in all business practices. This was a great price and it arrived ahead of the promised date at my local Walmart. I was notified by email and the pick up was painless.
I was mainly looking for a trimmer to cut my hair with and this one hit a homerun all the way. The design is very good and it holds a charge for quite a while. An added bonus is the fact that you can use it wet or dry and it is very easy to clean. I saw that someone reviewed it and said that having the comb on the 1 setting will give you a nice scalp job and that is very true but since my hair is thinning anyway that is the setting I prefer on a haircut. This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an awesome trimmer for an unbeatable price.
Bought one of these almost 10yrs ago. After about 6yrs I dropped it and it broke the guide. I purchased wahl heavy duty plug in to replace it. They dulled after 3yrs. I was please to see panisonic still made the exact same clipper with a improved charging craddle that mounts in a outlet. This clipper is perfect for cutting beards and a fade haircut for men. The longest setting works for the top. No guides to lose. I will own one of these until panisonic stops making them.
The next best thing to a professional instrument and good for the price. We'll see how long it stands up. So far I'm very pleased with this product and delivery was much faster than anticipated.
Watch your length settings. The first time I cleaned the razor, I cleaned it, slid the guide back on, and started to trim my beard, forgetting to check the setting thinking it would go back to my original setting. I went a little short in one place. When you slide the guide back on it resets to lowest setting. So far it is doing a very good job.
The Panasonic has a good charge and good features, but does not tell you when a full charge has taken place. The light does not change from "red" to another color, so you might think you need to charge it even more, but this will cause problems to the trimmer itself if charged for too long. My only problem I have with this is...the Comb Attachment that is responsible for the trimming length is very hard to take on and off. There are no instructions as how to take this attachment on and off.
On Walmart.com product detail page. It mentioned cord/cordless operation. But there is no power cord at all. Only an adapter for recharge purpose. I can not operate this clipper corded. This is not what I want. I will return it soon.
The trimmer is not what you would expect from Panasonic. It's cheaply made. The blade and attachments don't fit snugly and are of poor quality plastic. It doesn't provide a clean cut. It was neccessary to repeatedly trim over the same area many times which ultimately resulted in an uneven appearance. It wasn't crazy expensive, so I am not totally disappointed. I think you could do better though.
Bought this to replace the [Panasonic] beard trimmer I'd been using, but finanlly died; I've had THREE such models since the 1980s - VERY durable, lasting about a decade each on average. The old model was slim & trim, and for me anyway, much easier to hold and navigate. The new model is fatter/thicker, clunkier, harder to grasp, less navigable to use, and the adjustable length attachment is rather annoying: the lock-in-place length settings are an imprrovement, I suppose, though hardly necessary, and I found this one harder to get off and clean than the old one. Another factor is that's it's a plug-in; I mistakenly took 'cordless' to mean exactly what it meant for the old one - BATTERY operated, not with a charger requiring an electrical outlet. This makes it totally useless for business or vacation travel anywhere outside the US; the UK & Ireland, continental Europe, Latin America and East Asia all have different plug socket size from the US (and each other). I find this absurdly regressive - the number of Americans traveling abroad has soared in the last 30 years, since I got my first Panasonic breard trimmers, yet they seem to have discontinued any model that was battery-operated. The old model, just pop in a couple of fresh AA batteries, avaible anywhere in the world, and you're set. No schlepping around an 'adapter' kit in order to be able to use foreign plug outlets, as would be necessary with this "new, improved" model. It works adequately, and is fine for at home or travel within the US, but even then, a battery-operated model would be easier and more convenient, and not require dragging around a charger with you everywhere you go. When I find a battery-operated model, will buy that, and donate this one to Goodwill.
we returned it after one use. all the hair gets clogged inside and you have to keep taking the head off and emptying it after every swipe on the head- horrible product!
