I spent over 2 months looking, trying returning electric razors. From the Norelco that didn't shave a whisker off, not paying 200+ for a overpriced Braun, I selected the Panasonic ES-RT51S. I immediately fell in "love" with this razor. It cuts very close, the pop up trimmer works great. After 1 hour of charging it is pure bliss. The razor I threw away was over 25 yrs. old. So I was a hard one to please and this fantastic razor did the trick.
I have owned Panasonic shavers for over 20 years and the RT51 is my best experience yet. I have had several more expensive models yet I'm getting my most enjoyable shaving experience from the lower cost RT51 than any of the previous owned. I decided to start using a gel right from the get go which I had never done before, choosing to just use it in the shower in the past. It seems to lubricate the experience and gives a closer shave.
I have used this razor for about 10 months now and will say that this shaver is very typical of the many Panasonic products I have owned over the years. Panasonic builds the best products on the market at costs that do not drain your pocket book. This razor is a top performer both when I shave dry or I use gel, foam, or creme. It is quiet, easy to clean, rock solid, displays the percentage of remaining battery use, charges in 1 hour and believe it or not gives a close, comfortable shave every time. My one criticism is with the cost of replacing the screen and blades. The cost for these two items is almost as much as a new shaver, however, I must say that is the cost of a great shave. You get what you pay for. I swear by Panasonic and would never buy anything else! 2 of my grandson's will each have this shaver delivered by Santa this year.
I've just begun using it. I find it fast, and soft (almost noiseless), e.but I'm not yet convinced that it'll give me the really close shave I'd hoped to hav
Very easy to clean and from the first time I used it..no razor burns. Enjoyed the fact that I could take it in the shower. Cuts very close (although not quite as close as a razor) but it's close...So far I have only used it for 2 weeks, but if it continues to work as it has, I will be very satisfied.....Any Panasonic product is hard to beat and I own several!
I have very sensitive skin and can't shave with any kind of razor including safety razor or modern 3-5 blade razors. I was using a stubble trimmer and had to keep a 5 o' clock shadow since I refuse to irritate my skin with razor shaving. The 5 o' clock shadow look worked well enough for me since I was just a student but now that I will be joining the workplace I wanted to be clean shaven. That's were this Panasonic shaver comes in. It was the right price with enough features to start out with. I can say that I'm very satisfied with this razor. The first few shaves were not that close but don't let that fool you since once your skin and beard adjusts the shaves are as close as I ever had without any irritation. It can be used wet or dry but I use it dry because I don't want to use additional products like shaving creams/foams. I rated this 4 stars because it is missing some features that the more expensive models have but still it's understandable considering the price point. I can easily recommend this shaver as a starting point or even an everyday shaver. I like the Panasonic shaver so much that I am now looking to upgrade to a higher end model sometime soon. Until then I am enjoying this shaver and I'm happy with the results and how I look clean shaven without irritation.
Great shave, however, the battery tends to die after about a year.
I have used Panasonic shavers for about 20 years and have found them to be the best electric shaver on the market. The only negative is that the quality of the shave decreases faster than advertised. replacement blades cost as much as a new shaver making it almost cheaper to buy new. SAD.
This shaver is rugged, compact and easy to use. It does not give a close shave and is so rough on the face that I have to use shaving cream. Not a great buy.
Always took a long time for a shave, but I could put up with it at first because it was a closer shave than my previous razor. Now it takes a really long time to shave and takes many passes to look decent. Today, it started at 80% battery and died before i even finished. Always dies at 60% battery. Only had the razor for around a year, looking for something better.
