1973's Penguin marked another transition for the band. With Danny Kirwan now departed, the band added guitarist Bob Weston (Long John Baldry) & vocalist Dave Walker Idle Race, Savoy Brown). with Bob Welch contributing the gorgeous quot;Bright Firequot; & quot;Night Watchquot; & Christine McVie's melodic pop tunes quot;Remember Mequot; & quot;Dissatisfiedquot; along with their co-written quot;Did You Ever Love Mequot; this was their highest charting USA album to date at 49. The band produced the album with Martin Birch again engineering.
