Our feeder is a popular spot with this seed.
This is fine sunflower birdseed. It's a bit pricey. So, I ended up buying the 40 1lb bags (versus 20 lbs) for $4.00 more.
I have been buying this brand from Walmarts for two to three years. Last week we bought another bag of it. I just poured it out into the keeper large pretsel containers to mix with the safflower seed I always buy from Walmarts too to mix into the sunflower seeds. To my amazement I found a lot of broken twigs all through the new bag of sunflower seed. It was a mess. I was so disappointed. I hope Walmarts check into this. If I had just looked at the outside of the clear bag, I would have noticed a lot of brown twigs. When I started pouring, more and then even more kept coming out into the plastic keeper containers. I hope they get a better brand of the Pennington Black Oil Sunflower Seed or complain to the manufacturer. This has never happened in all the other bags of the Classic Pennington Black Oil Sunflower Seed I have bought.
I got a bad bag...this clogged my feeders and was a big mess. Called Pennington and they just ignored me---great
Very poor quality. Full of twigs. Will not purchase this brand again.
The quality (and quantity) of the product continues to decrease. I am switching brands, and if needed, where I buy sunflower seed. In the current bag there a is high percentage of sticks & rocks (?). Three feeders get this seed, & ALL have clogged nearly daily in the last few weeks. I have been using this brand for about a decade. Not any more though.
