We read the reviews prior to buying this. There was one 3 star review and three 1 star reviews and we almost didn't buy it. We're so glad we did. It was very inexpensive and worked perfectly without spilling a single drop of gas. We're moving and the movers needed the gas tank of our snow blower emptied or they wouldn't move it for us. We would absolutely recommend this as an affordable option for anyone. :o)
This product worked great for me. No issues. Pumped three times and gasoline was flowing from my riding mower into an empty container. The siphon didn't leak a single drop. Now, I did! Gotta watch the hose. It slipped out. Note....this is not a quick event. Patience. AND, the bulb is only to start the siphoning. This is NOT a PUMP. It just primes it and let gravity work. I don't plan to use this often. Just to empty lawn mower gas tank occasionally. No issues and great price. Exactly what I needed.
My lawn mower wouldn't start and I suspected bad gas. I bought one of these to drain the tank. It worked perfectly on the first try, with no leaks or other issues. It would probably work more quickly if it had a larger hose but it does what it should if you know how to use a siphon.
Bought this thinking it was a "pump" bulb tube (like on outboard motor gas lines). It does say "PUMP" on package. No... it is not a pump, but a siphon only. (It has no check or one-way valve.) Though usually long end tube goes in liquid being siphoned, I find it siphons equally well in both directions. Quality-wise, it is laughable, not even up to $ store standards. But it does work, in spite those who say it doesn't (who may not have read instructions on package). So far have only siphoned water, have not yet tried from car gas tank.
The hoses could be a bit longer for certain uses, and slightly larger diameter would speed things up, but a good product for the money and useful!
Needed a siphon to empty 7 gallons from my generator. This siphon baffles me that it is even being sold. It will siphon but at the expense of LEAKING from both sides of the siphon bulb. After about half a gallon siphoned I had to stop due to the amount of gas I was losing onto the garage floor. Boy was I mad! It had started leaking right away after I had squeezed the bulb a few times to get it going. I had gas all over my hand. I thought maybe it would stop once it started flowing but NOPE! What a mess I made and also got gas all over my shoes. How do I get that out? Complete waste of money and my time to try to use it. Not worth driving back to try to return. Tossed in the trash. Ridiculous, DO NOT BUY.
The tubes leak significantly where they attach to the bulb. The check valves barely work at all, so I had to pinch off the input/output tubes each time I squeezed/released, to avoid backflow. I used it once, then threw it away. The only good thing about this product is that it was cheap. I guess you get what you pay for.
Should have listened to other reviews about this product because it does not work. Had 3 adults try to get it to work and all said it was a piece of junk. I returned it
I bought this pump and didn't get to use it right away, nor do I have the receipt to return it, I still intend on keeping it for other applications just in case... we'll see what happens! Initially, i tested it out to see if it actually did work using 2 bottles of water (one with water the other without). It successfully transferred liquid from one to the other and i only had to pump once and gravity did the rest. Good right? WRONG!! Turns out that the "long" tube isn't long enough and if you really "want" this thing to work on a car like it suggests, you would have to buy extensions or a tube significantly longer than the one it came with. Plus the material used to bring this thing into existence is equivalent to a child's toy. Conclusion: If your intent for this product is to siphon out gas from a car, please do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on one that does not seem like you bought it at your local toy store.
Tried to get bad gas out of my truck, would not work. I thought...well, maybe the tank is too far down on this particular vehicle for the hose to reach the gas, so I tried it on a little compact car we have...nope. Tried it on my neighbor's small pickup...nope. Completely useless. It was so cheap, I'm not even going to waste my time returning it. Throwing it in the trash,
