Detailed product description

This extra strong tie out cable is strength tested for making it perfect for almost all medium and large breeds of dogs. The cable and swivel clips are constructed with 100 percent pure steel for greater strength and durability. The steel cable is vinyl covered to protect from rain and rust in outdoors. The crimp covers at the ends of the cable also serve as protection from weakening due to rain and rust and fraying from being exposed. Be sure to check out all of pet champion items including collars, leashes, harnesses, and more on instructions: Clip one end of the tie out to a strong stationary object such as a pet champion tie-out spiral stake.

Completely met my need for my 35 lb dog

I questioned whether I should get the more costly and heavier gauge cable tie-down, but opted for this one, thinking I could return it if it was too wimpy. As it turned out, it was perfectly adequate for my hyper, muscle bound dog. He tried to chew it to free himself, but soon figured out it was a waste of time. Your dog may be more determined and relentlessly work at chewing himself to freedom, but even so, the task should still prove to be a challenge, although not impossible. The weakest link turned out to be the collar, and I solved that with ordering a very reasonably priced heavy-duty leather collar from www.drsfosterandsmith.com.

It works for what it is intended for. You can hook your dog up and keep them out on it for a long time. They do not last forever, so if, you plan on keeping your dog out on it at all times even though the packaging says not to you should by two at a time so that way you can have a backup because they will break. As soon as the coating starts to come off the wire the wire will rust and it is just a matter of time before it snaps.

I use this one for my chihuahua and it works well. since it is out in all weather, I have to replace it about once a year, as it dries out the plastic coating and cracks. it does have one bad habit of becoming 'curly', like a phone cord. I just have to make it a point of making sure it's untangled when I bring the dog in, or it won't reach from the post to the door. We always buy this brand for all our dogs, and we buy all different weight classes. It seems to be the best one, for it's weight and sturdiness. Once the plastic starts to crack tho, you should replace, as the water quickly deteriorates the inner metal strands.

This sturdy color coded (for size) lead is just what we were looking for. We can let her out without any worries that she will break loose. The added bonus is that we can order this online for store pick up, which is convenient since we live out of town and it saves on multiple trips for shopping. Thanks Walmart.

Doesn't tangle easily and very visible. Snaps are easy to use.

I have two big dogs that go out on a pair of these tie-outs. They are sturdy and long-lasting, but unfortunately they do wear out. If the plastic cracks, the wire underneath rusts and eventually it breaks in two - not good when it releases a dog to run off for a while. So I have to keep a sharp eye on the tie-outs. Another problem is that the clip on one end - which is always outdoors - begins to rust fairly quickly. It becomes impossible to open so when I needed to replace it I have to get a friend over to saw the wire in two so the clip can be slipped off. Mind you, these are not immediate problems. I get at least two year's wear out of each pair I buy. I think they should treat the clips so they resist rust. This is my third set in 7 years.

Works, but be mindful

Used it to tie up my two dogs, one 12 pounds, the other 15 pounds. Together they are still under the weight limit. Unfortunately both of them running full speed together is enough to snap the cable where it loops at the end. So just be mindful that it will hold its weight as long as your dogs aren't running and constantly pulling on it. Will get a higher weight limit next time

Great covered cable doesn't seem to kink or tangle. Works well for my Shih Tzu.

Poor quality. The slider part broke on first use leaving a sharp edge. Could easily slice fingers while using.
