We needed a new battery for our guy and decided he needed a replacement collar also. The last one lasted about 21/2-3 years and he is in and out all of the time. Easy to put together and new battery can be set to threshold that accommodates your needs easily. It is only on when he is outside and off the minute he is in. Never alone outside but we never worry when he is chasing critters and our other dog who also has a Pet Safe collar on. Easy to use tool to make sure it is working and set at right threshold.
I needed an extra bc we have a new addition to our pack and family. To the pack it now makes 6 when my daughter is here with her two.
I've had your in-ground fence for 16 years and have always had success with the collars that came with it. That is until Lily. Had the collar on the highest level & she'd run through like it was nothing. Got the Stubborn Dog In-Ground Fence Receiver Collar and it only took attempts to leave the yard & she has since decided nope, I'm staying put. She's very reactive but squirrels or deer can be in my neighbor's yard & she's not tempted to go after them.
I use them for my dogs in the country, so they have all the place for them. They are free again!!
I have very large dogs & continually used these collars. Some breeds that are tough & naturally want to expand their territory, Anatolian Shepherd, therefore this system works best in combination with another fence that will slow them down so the shock is too much. I've found others like the English Mastiff, Giant Schnauzer & Great Pyrenees need no other barrier. Make sure the hair is trimmed short enough & use long enough probes with a tight enough collar. Always keep the collar on high so he doesn't learn he can get thru the shock easily. This isn't cruel as he doesn't get run over & you get sued. Also get the one needing a 9 volt battery as the battery is cheap & lasts a long time. Burton Moore, Roe AR
I have 10 acres and four Rottweilers. This is an amazing underground fence system..my dogs can run the entire property and swim in the pond with their collars. Weve never had any issues with them getting through thir boundaries. These are water proof durable collars

I've only had the in ground fence 6 weeks and love it BUT I'm purchasing my 4th replacement collar! One dog bites the other dogs collar and vice versa to set them free I assume I have attached my most recent receiver bitten and destroyed, yes I've tried differently made more sturdy collars but they are biting ripping the receivers out, off, whatever it takes
Very poor quality plastic the inside where the rubber o-ring sits crumbles then the o-ring doesn't seal. Only got 18 months out of this one.
This is the same collar as Pet Safe sister company, Sport Dog, used to make. Had to replace twice in last 5 years because molded plastic around threaded knurl (part the screws thread into) is so thin, it breaks out, and battery compartment lid will no longer stay on, as screws get loose and fall out..
