I priced professional repair and searched youtube and am glad I concluded to make this purchase. I easily found the break. I thought it'd be difficult to hear the sounds and there'd be second guessing followed by buyers remorse but that wasn't the case. I can highly recommended this product. Easy to follow troubleshooting steps. Buy it!
We had our lawn aerated which resulted in a break in our dog fence. Our yard is just over an acre so I had no idea where to begin. I found this product on-line and ordered it. Once it arrived It took a few minutes to set up the system. Once it was set up I was able to quickly locate a single break in our system at the very back of our yard. I had it repaired in about 20 min. This product worked great and saved me hours of work and head ache. I don't think I would of located the break without it. I would highly recommend, especially if you have a large area to search. I will also use this to mark where our fence is in the future so that we hopefully avoid anymore inadvertent breaks.
If you put in a fence of significant length, buy one of these at the same time. Finding a break without one is such a hassle! And it never occurs at a good time. With the locator, you will find the break and have it fixed in 5 minutes.
I have my fence for 16 years and repaired numerous breaks by just splitting the fence into different zones. Should have purchased this kit years ago!!!
We use this to find wire breaks with our robotic mowers. I have used this to find mainline of irrigation system. Great value for the money. Make sure the ground wires are hooked up and in moist soil. It will work much better after rain at finding the breaks. Does a decent job when the wire is shorted but finds it much faster when there is a clean break in the wire.
I had a great experience. Landscapers had put in a row of bushes when we were out of town and I had no idea where the wire was and where it was cut. The Wire Break detector was delivered right away. Instructions were clear and it was easy to set up. I found the break in 10 minutes. I'm glad I bought the detector as it saved a lot of time. (I'm not sure it matters but my wire was cut twice about three feet apart and I was able to find each live end without a problem. ) I definitely recommend this if you need help finding a cut wire in your pet fence.
For years i have repaired our electric fence using an am radio with either a generator pulse or the transistor method. Had to dig up the wire in many areas before finding the break. This wire Break locator with the two distinct sounds and the two lights made tracing the wire location and the location of the break very simple. What use to take me an hour or more this time only took 10 minutes to find and repair the break. Thank you.

I bought this in August and today finally had the time to devote to finding the wire breech. I have close to 2 acres this fence covers. Much to my surprise it works. The manual is a bit confusing and it took several instruction reviews before it all came together.
The item worked well finding the underground wire but the stick that holds the receiver broke before I made 1 loop around my yard. Very cheaply made handle but its made as part of the receiver so it was very difficult to fix. Had to use electrical tape and popsicle sticks.. Do not touch the receiver on the ground then you will not break the handle.
