We have these on our main tv, synced with the screen and they are so cool. But I bought some for my office nook in my room. The lights are stylish and easy to install/set up with the Hue bridge. At night it is great to set the different themes and be able to control everything from the phone.
Didn't know it needed a bridge and for a sync for PC. Pretty expensive and setup is exhausting especially since I'm not near a router. After everything is said and done, the light sync is phenomenal. The colors are awesome. It's bright, and the color blend is seemless.
Works great with Hue Sync, the PC app.
Product itself is good, however return process via Phillips-Hue is surprisingly very difficult. One should not have to make a phone call and go through so much effort, being queried about reason for return, and providing information multiple times to obtain a simple return authorization and shipping label.
Simple setup. Work as described. Put out reasonable amount of light and work well with my other lights connected to sync box. Only complaint is pricing on hue products are too high.
I'm very happy with the light bars. The reason I gave 4 stars are: 1) I wish the mounts were also white 2) They gave us 4 mounts but only gave 2 screws. I wish they gave us a screw per each mount.
The box was soaking wet when I received it. Also it wasn't made clear that the additional sync device is required to make it sync to what you're watching. Overall not a great value.
The lights themselves work well, like all of my other Hue lights -- but I did not understand at the time that I purchased them -- my fault, I guess -- that I needed to spend ANOTHER $230-250 for a unit that actually processes the images showing on my TV. So, I am just using them for basic lighting.
The emite a faint but noticeable sound constantly, like someone blowing a dog whistle that never ends. Thought it was just a defective unit, but ordered a 2nd set, and they still gave off that annoying eeeeee. Would be great lights otherwise, but that's a pretty big detractor
I was really excited to purchase these lights as I had heard so many good things about Philips Hue. After setting them up and turning them on, I could hear a constant, and very annoying, buzzing sound coming from the light bars. After doing some research, I found this is an ongoing issue. I contacted support and was told these light bars only work properly with the Hue Bridge. I had already waited some time to splurge on these lights so I wasn't willing to dish out another chunk of money for the bridge so I had to return the bars instead. It's a shame that these cannot work properly on their own and that the product description doesn't clearly state that a bridge is necessary with these light bars. The quality of the light itself and ability to control the color and brightness is nice but I'm really not sure the price tag is worth it considering you have to buy an additional accessory to use them. Despite the disappointment, I had a positive experience with the support team and the return process was straightforward.
