I purchased the Phillips antena after reading the reviews on this site. I followed the instructions on the pamphlet, and for the HDTV converter box. The reception is wonderfull. The units work well together and make tv viewing a pleasure. Thank-you wal-mart. Happydayze :)
I recently purchased a HDTV and wanted to view the local digital channels. On installation and initial adjustment, I started receiving most of the local HDTV broadcasts. After finding the exact direction of the broadcast towers from my home and application of the old standby aluminum foil, I was able to receive all the local HDTV channels. There is a range limitation for rabbit-ears, my residence is about 15 miles from the towers. Be sure to check tower distances before purchase!
While the price is a little to much to have only 6 to 10 local HD Channels, the Picture Quality is out of this world if you have an HDTV. The sound quality is good, but no that great compare to digital cable. The antenna itself is easy to use and is a no brainer. Plug and Play and ready to search for local digital channels. I have no buildings or trees around so I guess my signal is strong always. I live 20-25 miles from the nearest broadcasting station
The connection was easy enough, but the reception is a lot to be desired. First we had to have the power all the way up all the time. I had to keep moving its position on the stand we set up just for it. Even then the digital reception was medioker. Not all digital channels would come in unless we moved it, and then they would break up and return. I returned this for the Phillps MANT940, which works perfectly, and recieved more channels than this one did. My advise is spend the extra $10.00 now, rather than spending it later, plus the gasoline to get there and back.
this product has nothing to offer. for 4 straight hours i have been adjusting the antennas to get a clear picture but nothing comes out to even get a picture. besides, we are coming to the point to get nothing but digital everything. if you but this product you are just wasting your money.
I've had this product for a few months now. While it does recieve some channels, I have to play with it a lot...(the antenna, not that), to get good reception. If your going to buy this, make sure you don't have any large obstructions like: churches, buildings ect. in a four block radious, or that could spell trouble.
I bought this product over a year ago, sorry to say. Since I bought it, I have no sound and the picture is all blurry and fuzzy. If you try to adjust it, you lose any picture you had. Not a good buy at all. Stay away from it. Get a good outdoor antenna.
we had this product for about 3 months and I hated it. if someone would walk by the signal would be interupted. if I changed the channel I had to get up and re-adjust it(just like old times-felt like Archie Bunker-Hello, this is supposed to be new technology?). do yourself a favor and buy the rca flat antenna (does not need power, and works waaaaaaaaaay better) or a outdoor model.
I bought this antenna would work well with my HDTV and help receive the few stations within my reach. It actually under performed the Analog Antenna. Fuzzy reception was the problem with analog. NO reception was what I got with this product. The amplifier didn't detect any stations. Also, the RG59 coaxial cable failed to fit on the digital converter box I was using to receive these stations with my HD tv. Found this product useless for straight connections or through digital converter boxes.
I purchased this item after purchasing my tv converter box with the hope of improving the reception on my tv. After connecting it, not only did I not get an improved picture, but the sound was terrible. I do recommend this antenna for use with a tv converter box. :-(
