I have so much trouble getting out of bed when it's still dark outside, so I found this alarm clock very helpful in waking myself up. It is brighter than I would have expected for such a small item, and has a loud alarm sound as well, which is important to me. It also looks fairly nice / unobtrusive.

I got this light wake up for my 22 year old daughter who has NEVER been able to get up and get out of bed, no matter how loud the alarm was. She hasn't been late for work 1 day since she's used it. It is an absolute miracle!! I'm so happy!
I'm officially hooked on my Philips Wake Up Light! I bought one for my parents for the holidays and have recommended it to countless friends. I work in film production, which is notorious for odd and long hours. When I have to wake up at 5am one day, then 4pm the next, I rely heavily on my Wake Up Light to help me wake up easily and on time.
The Phillips Wake Up Light has been an excellent addition to my wakeup routine, I recently received a free sample of this product in exchange for a honest review. It illuminates the room and sets a calming tone both while preparing for bed and waking up in the mornings. My favorite feature is the actual light that gradually wakes me up in the morning. I no longer feel jolted out of my sleep with a loud alarm, with using the Wake Up Light I am able to gradually wake up in the morning without disturbing anyone else. There was no assembly for this product, but I did have to set the time and radio station that wakes me up each morning. This product`s energy source is a plug in outlet. This product exceeded my expectations because I am able to wake up with ease, it is similar to waking up to a sunset. The way the room is illuminated by the light also makes it nice for night time use before bed. I would like to see this product come in a battery operated form, or allow a Bluetooth option to play a more personalized selection of music, it currently has three settings which allow nature sounds, and a FM radio option. I would recommend this product to friends and even purchase it as a gift for people who have difficulties waking up or don`t like a loud alarm to take wake them in the morning. Overall, this is a useful product that I can see myself continuously using, it is a nice size and is very practical. The WakeUp light has been beneficial to me and sets a nice tone for my workdays when I wake up to my favorite station.
Waking to the glow of this device is a much more gentle way of beginning the day than the abrupt buzz or whine of the typical alarm clock. As an object on the nightstand, the light has a nicely appealing shape and smart looking design. The process of setting the time and alarm is unfortunately entirely typical - a nonintuitive multi-step process of pressing cryptically marked buttons that's become the norm for setting digital clocks.
I really like this alarm clock. The light definitely makes a difference in helping me get up in the morning and I love the sounds of chirping birds. I do wish it had a battery back up. I read reviews and others mentioned it, so it was not enough to keep me from buying it, but if the power goes out during the night, the light flashes (and woke my husband up; he is not a fan of the clock). As long as it does not lose power (and luckily it does not happen often or I would consider finding an inexpensive UPS to make sure it maintains power through brief outages). I have a terrible time waking up in the morning and this has definitely helped me.
I love the light it gives off and that you can adjust the level. The time shines too bright for my taste, though. The alarm function is very easy to use, but the snooze button isn't very easy to use - you have to tap it "just right" (I haven't figured out what "just right" is yet).
The light works as described but I wish that it was portable
This product does what it is intended to do, however, I have noticed several flaws that make it a challenge to continue using. First being no battery backup; everytime the power goes out, I have to reset the time and my alarm. This can get annoying. Another issue is that the volume of the bird sounds is not adjustable. I often sleep right through them. I wish the volume would increase to a greater magnitude. Finally, I find it challenging to turn off the alarm- without a hard off/snooze button, I often find myself slapping the device and it not snoozing, or turning off when "pressing" the respective buttons. I like the idea, but I feel a different model with these features would be better. If the items mentioned above are important to you, switch to a different model.
