I originally purchased this set with the intention of breast feeding. I was only able to breast feed for 2 months before having to switch to formula. The best thing about it is the convenience! I don't know too many new mothers who have the time to constantly wash bottles in the blur of everything else. I use one liner a day to help save on money. Another great thing is the variety of nipples. I don't like the clear ones because they would get stopped up and my daughter would get frustrated. I really really like that the caps are small and don't take up alot of room in a diaper bag. The caps stay on very well and so you don't have to worry about it popping off in the diaper bag and leaking everywhere.
My 5 week old daughter loves these bottles. She takes to the nipples so quickly and easily. She has never refused this nipple on these bottles. I'd so recommend this bottle to moms of bottle fed babies.
I originally stocked up on Dr. Brown's bottles, which worked great for a while. However, they were very difficult to clean and not easy to travel with. I finally tried these after trying countless other bottles and wasting a lot of money. I'm so glad I got these. They work great for my son. We squeeze all of the air out of the liner and it reduces my son's gas and spit up. Although it can be costly, it's so convenient to just toss the liners. You only really have to wash the nipples and occasionally, the nursers. The only thing that gets on my nerves is the way the nipple collapses toward the end of the feeding-the only way to fix that is to let some air into the bottle (defeating the purpose!). I remember my mom using these with my siblings and now I know why they're still around! Good bottles, I recommend them.
We used these bottles with our now 4 yr old daughter, and just purchased a new set for the birth of our son in a few months(only because we misplaced the set from our daughter). These bottles were a lifesaver with her! People talk about the liners being expensive, but we actually reused them. Washing them in hot soapy water did NOT affect them at all, and it saves a lot of money. I breastfed, and bottle fed and my daughter had no problem going back and forth with these bottles. The caps stay on wonderful too. A little struggle to get them off but its worth it when they dont leak!
I love these bottles, my son has problems with gas and he doesn't have any issues with these bottles. he gets no air at all. I love that the liners are don't allow air to get in!my son is 11 months old now and I've used these bottles since he was about 3 months old.
This bottles r the best everyone who's haveing a baby should get them thay r so good for babys with gas problems and so easy to clean don't have to worry about if the dishwasher soap because u allways putting the bags in them i used them and can't wait to use them again the best bottlees on the market ..
I am a first time mother, and was very successful at breastfeeding but when it came time for me to go back to work, I began pumping but because my baby was used to the slow flow of breast feeding every bottle i tried would cause him to choke because of the fast flow. I tired The First Years Soothie set, stage one nipples and they still choked him, i tried several brands and these are the onle ones that work. He can go from the breast to the bottle and it doesn't bother him. So we can do both. Great product for breast feeding moms!
I've bought this set for both of my babies, and about to buy it again for my third. My second child was breast-fead which made pumping an easy task. My son wasn't he just got belly aches because he was getting to much air from all the other bottles. So breastfeeding or not this IS a great set!
14 yrs ago, my mom bought me the playtex nursers and being my first baby when I was 18 yrs old, I thought they were so old fashioned and was embarressed to use them. But after finding that regular bottles were hard to clean and that dried spoiled milk always collected in the bottom corners and I hated the work of handwashing them or using bleach or the time it took to boil and sterilize them. When I was on the go it was scary to have to put milk into a dirty, bottle or having to carry a huge diaper bag to sport around tons of extras, I got smart and decided to try to use the nurser bottles and found that the liners were perfect for my baby's sanitary health and so EASY for me. I just pulled out the used liner/drop-in, tossed it in the garbage and put a new sterile one in and I just had to take a few seconds to find a restroom to wash the nipple real quick or replace with a clean one I brought. No matter how many feedings a day, I really only needed 1 bottle. I had several clean nipples on hand and swapped out the liner in 5 seconds and popped in a new/clean nipple if needed, put in the milk and wah-lah! -A new bottle for my baby in 20 seconds and not a ton of bacteria collecting in bottles laying everywhere needing to be washed. Also making it easier was that my babies drank normal/room temperature formula so I didn't have to stress about finding somewhere to warm them and it just made it even easier to sport and make these bottles anywhere in a flash! Also making easier transition to whole milk when my children turned 1. When I warmed babies milk I found she spit up more and gagged on curtled stuff when fussing after a feeding and it was easier to carry a room temp water bottle and powder formula, so for those on the go often, these are perfect for you! The less to carry and less work to do makes it easier and so much better, for a mother and of course...fathers... own sanity!! :) I breastfed my babies, but formula fed them when needed but never used these bottles to try to squeeze the air out or worried about all that jazz. I never had a fussy or gassy baby and think maybe it's because the perfectly clean milk every feeding out of these bottles kept their stomachs clean from any hidden bacteria regular bottles can hide and spread and can cause upset tummies and fussy babies. I really don't know if that's the case for every baby, but I am currently on my 5th child and I AM 100% satisfied and extremely happy with the simplicity of the Playtex Nursers and recommend them to everyone and hope they are still around when my grandbabies arrive someday.
These bottles are great! My son uses these and they are very convenient as there is no washing dirty bottles! Just throw the liner away, rinse the holder, and wash lid/cap/nipple and you're done. The Playtex original nurser comes in many bright colors and designs that will cater to a boy or girl! They have a nice variety of nipples too, available in latex and silicone, so you can find the one that is right for your child. Also, the caps fit nicely on the bottom of the bottle while you feed baby so that it doesn't end up lost. Wonderful product!
