Normal rechargeable batteries are pretty worthless because they are lower voltage than a regular disposable battery, causing electronics to perform sluggishly from lack of power. These batteries are actually higher voltage than regular alkaline so there's no performance hit for using a rechargeable battery. I have had great results using the batteries in remotes, flashlights, toys and game controllers. The other reviewer states he had problems with the charger but he was able to charge his AAA batteries. as of Jan 2011 powergenix has not released a AAA battery so this user must have used another product
These batteries are great but you must use the NiZn battery charger . . . charging these any other way will not work and I suspect that others that have rated these batteries poorly were not using a NiZn charger. I find these batteries far exceed my expectations especially when you consider that they are environmentally friendly. I would recommend them in a heart beat for photo flash, flash lights or most anything that takes a AA battery. When they become available I look forward to using PowerGenix AAA batteries too.
These batteries performed great.. the first time. Second use, they went dead Very fast! I use them in two way radios, as their higher rated voltage is needed. They are a great idea, but the technology needs developed better.
I can not write a good review, the package says to charge the batteries before use but they will not charge. When I put them in the charger, the charger lights blink back and forth between the red and green lights. I had no trouble the AAA batteries taht I also purchase on this same order, they charge correctly! I do not see any thing in the charger instructions that indicates why the lights would blink alterately!!
