This product replaces a Fellowes shredder that I have used at home for the past 6 years on a daily basis. It was recommended by the Fellowes Technical Support group to be the best product for my needs. It is very powerful and shreds almost anything. It was considerably lower in price at Wal-Mart than at office supply stores.
This shredder works really well! It is easy to use, and really shreds a lot at once. I can shred an entire envelope of one of those "credit card offers" I hate getting at once! I am doing a lot of catch up shredding after my Staples shredder died after 6 months (at 2x the price), and it is keeping up nicely. I do need to give a break for about 20 minutes or so after continual shredding. I find it a bit quieter than other shredders, and the teeth are easier to clean. Would not hesitate to buy this brand again!
This shredder was a great buy! I needed something that could do a great deal of shredding past documents. I got the project done, and now that I have a shredder, I can keep up with anything else! This fits nicely under the desk so it is out of the way.
I have been using this shredder for a couple of weeks now and am very pleased with it. I have shredded entire envelopes of junk mail and it hasn't gotten stuck, but it obviously struggles. I can't say that I've tried more than 8 pages or CDs, credit cards, etc. It's loud enough that I won't use it early in the morning (I live in an apartment and I'm sure my neighbors can hear it). My only wish is that it cross-cut instead of strips, but otherwise, very satisfied with my purchase.
I was really surprised and amazed at what this machine could do. I was replacing a shredder that needed replacing and was not familiar with the Fellows line. When I got it home and unpacked it I was impressed with the weight of the head of this unit. I knew I had a serious piece of equipment here and I felt confident that it would do what I had read about the Fellows product. It has sure lived up to its reputation and I am more than pleased.
The paper shredder I purchased is just right for my small office space and limited needs in terms of volume of paper used. The bucket is lightwt. so when the heavy top was placed on it, it got slightly shaky in terms of sitting on the floor solidly and steadfastly, however, it's easy to use and works well and I'm impressed it shreds cards and heavier items too.
This shredder works well, the only flaw is it's limited number of sheets per pass. The manufacturer states it's an 8 sheet shredder, in reality it's more like 4 or 5 sheets per shred. It deals easily with staples.
The P-57Cs has all the bells and whistles I wanted in a shredder. The only issue I have is the small bin and how loud it is but it does the job. I would refer this product to most household users.
I am disappointed in the quality of the shredder. It has been successful in shredding small amounts of papers fed into it, but it groans and struggles to do so. If you want a shredder that you will use regularly with confidence I would invest in a little higher grade shredder with more motor strength. This one sounds like it is ready to give out and give up the ghost soon. If I had to do it over, I would follow the advice I just gave your consumer product reviewers. Hope this is helpful.
8 sheet shredder - it is more like a 3 sheet shredder. Put it to the test and FAILED. But an A for effort. Returned for a similar product less than half the price and am much happier!
