This unit replaced my regular fry daddy which after a decade died making its last French fry. I needed something with a little more capacity and this unit fits the bill perfectly.
I didn't need to keep the one that I ordered because I finally found the one I owned, it comes with a metal separated section so I can cook 2 different foods so they don't get stuck on each other. I love this fryer so much that's why I ordered the new one, because I knew this brand was the only choice for me. So if I would buy any fryer I would still buy PRSTO DUAL DADDY ELECTRIC DEEP FRYER 05450 and if you want one just go to Walmart or order it and it came delivered in 2 days.
The first word that comes to my mind-is simple. I love this fryer because it is so easy to use, store & clean. No dials and all of that rubbish. Reminds me of the days when you could buy things like this. Things that do the job with no frills-who needs it! You can fry a little or alot-add as much oil as you like. Canola oil works great-high frying temp and is pretty healthy. Can't think of one negative thing to say about this product-love it. I was very impressed with the ease and size of the fryer. Recommended highly.
I like the fact I can store the oil in it, but I wish it had a built in storage for the cord so I could keep it all together. It definitely fries quite a bit per batch. I would definitely recommend this unit to everyone.
Great deep fryer, good size, I cooked wings and onion rings and they turned out perfectly! Cleaning looks much easier than my old fryer that had coils. I don't lose an inch of oil because there's no coils. Love and and advertised it to many of my friends and they all got one. I could probably do a commercial for it. Only problem is cord is so short, also wished unit had a light to tell you that it's on or heating, u won't know its hot enough until you drop something in it.
I love these Presto Dual Daddy fryers. Just bought my 3rd and 4th one, as %231 and %232 finally got too grody after 20 years of use. They are oval and can fit larger fish fillets, etc., than the round versions. And simple thing - they come with an actual plastic lid - after the oil is cool, the lid goes on and actually seals the unit. I bought another brand that required the lid to be on the unit while cooking, and while that is probably safer, there was no way to seal off the oil. I try to get two cookings out of a batch of oil. Be very wary of putting items into the oil that have ice/water in them, such as frozen okra. It can get very splattery. But the okra is awesome, as well as Walmart seasoned fries! Happy cooking! Hope they don't change a thing with this item.
I've had the Fry Baby and the Fry Daddy, both good products, but this is the best! Unless you're feeding an army, you don't have to do food in batches. Easy to use, easy to clean and the separator is good for things like fish and chips, so that your French fries don't taste fishy. And Presto is a dependable make. I had both the Fry Baby and Fry Daddy for DECADES and I expect the same longevity from this beauty.
I have used the Fry Daddy as well as the next size up and have been extremely pleased with both. Although I have not yet used the Duel Daddy, I expect it will perform just as well. I look forward to cooking larger amounts of fresh fish and chicken!
I've had ours since 2003-2004, our mom bought it when I was a kid and she passed away and this is the only thing that I have of hers, it still works like new, doesn't look new but it's been working fine for 20+ years and I plan on getting a new one but will still continue to use the one my mother bought
Though the fryer looks large, the manufacturers suggested oil fill level is low. If you have a family, say of three or more, you have to fry in several batches, which takes too much time. There is no temperature control, which was known upon purchase, but it seems the fryer does not get hot enough, causing food to absorb too much oil and be less crispy. It is not really hard to clean, but the cooking base should detach from the pot so the pot can just go in the sink or the dishwasher for cleaning. The storage lid fits, but it is no where near air tight. I'm thinking about returning the fryer. Ideally, the manufacturer would make a similar no basket design with a larger cooking capacity, temperature control, a detachable cooking base and pot, and a secure lid for storage.
