[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Prilosec OTC for my frequent heartburn. My heartburn was getting pretty bad, resulting in burning sensation and me coughing when I bent over to reach for something, coughing and burning when I laid down at night, and even a little trouble swallowing and keeping some foods down without a burn. I took Prilosec OTC and after about 5 days of taking it everyday, my symptoms finally started to go away. No more burning sensation, no heartburn, no coughing. It's great to feel normal again!

Trying products over the counter, prescriptions and even alternative ideas. Nothing has ever eased the discomfort and pain. Until now. A 14 day treatment plan, just taking 1 a day in the morning. After just a few days I see a difference. I am excited at the prospect of what happens after 14 days and then even may take a chance to eat normally again. If you have issues daily with heartburn, and want to try something that works, I highly recommend this product.

I was so impressed with Prilosec OTC. It started working in about 20 minutes and continued to work throughout the day. I definitely found my new "cure" for heartburn pain!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have heartburn and throat strictures. It makes enjoying meals a chore. Since using Prilosec, I have noticed a great difference. I can enjoy meals with ease and not worry about how I'm going to feel after eating. I don't suffer that pain that comes when I eat something I know I will regret. I'm a huge coffee drinker, and most mornings although I enjoy the warm dark richness of a cup, I can have repercussions that aren't any where close to happiness. Prilosec has made it to where I can drink my coffee and not worry about heartburn creeping up. I have been really impressed with this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been taking Prilosec OTC for 10 days and I'm blown away with the results. I had a sleeve gastrectomy surgery a year ago and have had to use a prescription acid reflux medication since then. I was only supposed to have a prescription for a few months, but every time my doctor took me off I would get bad flare ups at about day three. None of the over the counter medication would even touch the pain. My doctor would then have to put me on the prescription again. This time as soon as I stopped the prescription I tried Prilosec OTC. I take one at night before bed and it lasts 24 hours. (Other brands I had to take more frequently and it wouldn't even work!) I've not had one flare up since taking Prilosec! I'm so happy and excited by these results! I've finally found a product that works for me that doesn't require a prescription!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having the stomach of a goat, I very rarely suffer from heartburn, so I gave my sample of Prilosec OTC to a patient who cannot be leaned back too far during dental treatments and exhibits enamel erosion due to acid reflux, yet is too stubborn to seek medical attention. His wife called me about a week later to thank me. It seems when her man-baby is uncomfortable, the whole family is uncomfortable. When he returned for his follow up appointment three weeks later, he hugged me. We were able to lean him back until the change fell out of his pockets. Prilosec OTC is taken once a day for a 14 day course. It is not a product to take for immediate treatment of heartburn. The insert on the box states it takes at least a day to 4 days to reach its full effect. Our patient felt relief of his symptoms within two hours of initial dosage, and was enjoying being symptom free a week after his last dose. Your mileage may vary in terms of relief and how long the relief lasts. It is a tiny coated pill, like a flattened allergy medication and easy to swallow. It is also available in wild berry flavor. Did Prilosec OTC save my patient's marriage? It is a distinct possibility. It most definitely alleviated his symptoms and I would not hesitate to recommend it to those suffering frequent heartburn.

I have a strict diet that I follow, but too often I still get heartburns no matter what I eat or some times I haven't eaten anything but I still get heartburn. Prilosec OTC did help my heartburn a lot. It was like putting out a fire located in my chest. I just wish if Prilosec OTC was a faster relief. It took between 30 mins to an hour to work for me. But once it kicked in.....omg....it kicked in. It was like water on fire (wood fire that it). For me, I use to chew on those other otc brands for my heartburn. The difference between Prilosec OTC and those other brands are the lasting effects. Prilosec OTC last way much longer. I was chewing those other brands consistantly within an hour or two, but I only had to take one of the Prilosec OTC.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I thought pregnancy heartburn was bad, it's nothing compared to those glorious teenage years. To be fair, the kids are only mostly to blame for that horrible feeling of molten lava that threatens to flow up my esophagus every time I stress eat. My husband, who also suffers from heartburn only his is medically triggered and service connected so it's more like a war wound and infinitely cooler than mine , calls that feeling ' the devil's burps'. Pretty accurate actually. I haven't tried medication before because I refused to admit I had a problem. It would be admitting weakness and also acknowledging that I wasn't in my twenties anymore. Prilosec OTC already had my attention with the packaging. Bright purple? This isn't medicine, it's a party! My first hurdle was remembering to take one in the morning. I struggle to remember where my shoes are most mornings and have been known to rush off with one flip flop and a sock. Kids, enough said. Once I decided to place the Prilosec next to my keys, I started taking one a day. And surprise! It works. No more devil's burps if I stay up late and binge on french toast with whipped cream and strawberries, no more propping up pillows and being afraid to swallow! For mild , occasional heartburn, this is definitely worth trying. Only issue was a little tummy problems in the beginning. It is also helpful to try and take Prilosec around the same time every day if possible so that it has a chance to work.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This medicine is OK. It's nice to have one pill to take, but do you know the most frustrating part of taking Prilosec OTC? It's getting the darn pills out of the packaging! The blister pack is not the way to go if you have arthritis or other hand issues. That said, I did find it somewhat effective as a heartburn preventative AFTER taking it for a few days. Take this knowing up front that it does actually take awhile to begin working. I wish this treated heartburn more quickly, and that it would really ensure zero heartburn. It is better than not taking anything, but not the best product ever. It couldn't cure my heartburn problem, though it may work better for less severe cases. (I experience moderate heartburn daily with infrequent bursts of intense heartburn.) It's a great idea, but did not work for me like I had hoped. I'm left with lingering traces of heartburn and sore fingertips.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that the Prilosec is helping my symptoms. I have not had an occurrence of heartburn since I started the treatment. I also have a recurrent cough which I am told a drug like Prilosec can often times help. I have noticed a decrease in my cough. Unfortunately my blood pressure has started to spike. I am unsure that it is the Prilosec, but I am going to have to stop taking them. I hope I continue to see benefit. I have taken 11 of the 14 tablets. Packaging is easy to get into.
