Putting this system in was the best thing I ever did. I have lung disease and now I have good clean water to put in my humidifiers and my essential oil diffuser. The water taste so good. It was super easy to install. I bought a new coffee pot and it taste so much better too.
Outstanding American HUMAN customer service that actually answers the phone. Great product, easy to install. Schematic could be larger - my elderly handyman had a hard time reading it. Fantastic flouride free water (hopefully- I have not tested yet).
I flushed the system and now able to get clean sparkling water which refills every day.
We installed this filter last week and are so pleased with it that I bought one for each of our kids. I recently was diagnosed with breast cancer and am finishing up radiation treatments now. In researching, it looks like drinking municipal water could have had a part to play in my cancer. Ninety percent of cancers are caused by the toxins in our environment. With our cities infrastructures decaying I felt that it was a good move to filter our water. We like the 6th stage putting back calcium and magnesium into the water and the water flow is much better than expected.
Regular replacement of these filters have kept the 5 year old system delivering consistently excellent drinking and cooking water. NO more lugging cases of plastic bottles water up the stairs.
I bought this system a couple of months ago and I absolutely love it. When I initially installed the water dispenser I was getting upset that it was leaking only to realize that the drain tube had a section that was below the pipe it was draining to. Once I cut the tube and made sure the tube went down directly to the drain pipe, it worked perfectly. I also bought a ph meter and the 6th filter adds minerals to get the PH to 7. I am very happy with my purchase and love not buying bottled water. The only issue is that the water is not ice cold.
Going to wait 30 days and send in first water test. All is good.
This is the most compact version I found, slightly larger than the water tank. Tubing lengths were sufficient and easy to connect. The instructions were slightly different than the supplied parts and should be updated. Water taste is good thanks to the after filter that adds some minerals back to the distilled water. Water pressure is good. Water volume is good and we make a lot of coffee and Iced tea. Tip: I have a faucet wrench and that made tightening the nut on the faucet easier, You should get one also to limit the frustration dealing with the nut in tight spaces.
I installed a 5-stage Watts RO system in my mother's house years ago, and the whole installation process was extremely time consuming and required a ton of hose routing. Since the Pelican system is practically all-in-one the installation was super easy. Another awesome feature of this system is that you don't have to drain the whole system, flush with a bleach solution, and deal with all the filter canisters. The filters come pre-staged with a chlorine agent to sterilize all the components. All you have to do is wait 8-hours and flush a few times. So much easier than the Watts system. Finally, the water quality is absolutely amazing, and is superior to the Watts system. The water tastes cleaner and is smoother (possibly due to the calcium and magnesium being added back in the final stage). All in all I love my Pelican RO system and will be recommending it to anyone who would like better quality drinking water.
I have installed many Reverse Osmosis systems and this has to be the most compact unit. No cartridges to attach to side walls of cupboard. Very easy install. Can't comment on longevity and ease of acquiring replacement parts yet. Very happy with quality of filtered water.
