I wasn't expecting much with this waffle iron because of the price but I love it. Its built well and makes very delicous waffles.

I used last week to make some waffles and they were delicious. My old waffle iron began having the waffles stick and you had to scrape them off. That's when I decided to order one from Walmart when I knew I couldn't go out because of Covid' I am very happy with my choice and I am glad I ordered it from you.
I was concerned after reading the 1 review left but now I see it was not the product but the consumer that was a problem..I didnt find it too small.The measurements are in the description and it was as big as it claimed. No where in the product description does it say the plates are removeable and does not say anywhere that it is a flip type waffle iron. Given what I read I got what I expected for the price..If you think you will get all those convenience features at this price you would be mistaken. If you want those features you should expect to pay more than this! I have a feeling the previous customer never read the product specifications.
This was not the waffle maker I wanted. The Hamilton beach I was looking at was sold out online and not in my local store so I bought this one. It works well. Makes good waffles although a little thin. However the locking mechanism is really really really hard the open. A waffle maker doesn't need a lock! I imagine over time it was get easier to open though. Waffles came out easy and uniformly brown.
Used only once so far & the waffles were great. Easy to do & pretty fast. Like the size of the waffles. Also makes two at a time. Pleased with this product.
Small size, only used one time but does the job, would recommend.
Good for the price. Does not use as much batter. It works for me. I only have to make one batch at a time. With my other iron I had to eat 2 pieces and put the other two in the freeze for another time.
The waffles are flat and cook unevenly. I thought this product was similar to a Hamilton Beach 26200 belgian waffle maker that I own as the product has a similar shape and appearance. That is where the similarity ends. My old waffle maker has a deep grid design and is flipped over after filling to create a deep belgian waffle that is evenly cooked. The procter silex makes thin waffles that are not cooked evenly. The center is dark and crispy while the edges are nearly white. This unit should not be labeled Belgian Waffle Maker as it is not.
First, it is nearly impossible to get the latch open--you have to figure out the "trick" to it, which was irritating right off the bat. It did a decent job of cooking, but there is no way to clean it thoroughly without removing screws, etc., and then leftover food still gets stuck in the hinges (inside.) If you don't mind fighting with the latch every time and old food getting rancid and unsanitary on the interior as you continue to use it, this is for you!
