We were delighted with this product. We live overseas and ingredients are expensive to make lasagna from scratch. This is perfect.

I really like this product, and the only place I can get it is Wal-Mart. It's not as easy to make as Stouffer's frozen one (remove from box, peel off plastic, tent foil lid and bake for 2 hours), but it is MUCH easier and quicker than home-made, and still tastes very good. (Way, way better than hamburger helper lasagna flavored meal) Don't be misled. This is NOT just an open the box and shove in the oven kind of product. But it's not hard to do. The price is really fair - less than $3 per box - but the biggest selling point for me is that you don't have to fuss with cooking the noodles first. You use the noodles raw, and they cook in the sauce while you bake. Simply brown the meat and add the tomato paste mixture, and add a bit of water to simmer for a few minutes. Mix milk into the dry ricotta mixture and let stand a few minutes. Then, start layering in a 8 x 8 inch pan. You can make two of these at a time in a larger baking dish, like a 9x13 or 10x14 pan. You only have to add hamburger and shredded mozzarella to this box mix, otherwise everything is included. I think the "prep time" is a little bit under rated, (being organized and ready to cook makes a big difference - I often have to hunt for cooking tools like the cheese grater, which slows meal preparation down - but that's more my fault than anyone else's!) but you can have this done in about an hour or maybe a few minutes over, from start to finish (including browning the meat, mixing and layering, then baking) It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to layer, then bake for about 20 to 30 minutes. I'm highly impressed with it, its a great time saver... and I'm a good cook who CAN do it "the hard way". Also, I would think that if you wanted, you could substitute other meats for the ground beef, either ground turkey or chicken, or if you really wanted, ground Italian sausage.

There is nothing on the packaging indicating that you must completely assemble and cook this product at least 30 minutes. The pasta is uncooked. And all the ingredients must be assembled in your own pan. This is not microwavable for me I would make one from scratch is the same time it took to prepare this except the end product is the same quality as microwave just without the conveyance.
