Perfectly suited for our PS4 gaming needs. This is not just a chat headset, it actually does benefit the experience. Why these didn't come with the PS4 is a mystery to me. I bought one for myself, and one each for my son, and my daughter away at school. They make our game time together a bit better because we can hear each other very well, and the game sounds are very detailed and clear. There are some additional bells and whistles such as game specific sound profiles and virtual surround sound modes. I installed the PS4 app for the headset, and used the default gaming sound profile. Once I adjusted the chat volume and the game sounds volume to my liking, I haven't had to touch any other settings for great sound. also they are comfortable enough for hours of gameplay at a time. Initially, they felt 'cheap', but are not. The lightweight design falsely gave me that impression. I now appreciate how light they are compared to my "heavy" feeling PC headset.
They are awesome headsets I bought three of them for my kids!!! And worth the price!!! You can't beat it!!!
At first I didn't know how to get it going because it is plug and play but I wouldn't hear anything still so I went to setting and changed all my sound to it then once it kicked on I didn't wanna take them off because the sound was amazing. Well worth the money.
These are good headphones for the price with a great sound and a quality mic. I enjoy everything about the headphones except for the material that the ear covers are made of. The ear covers are made of a kinda rough mesh that'll make you ears hurt after wearing them for longer than an hour or so. Some people have complained that the headset is not very durable and they break easy, but I've actively used mine for a month now and don't have any concern of them breaking.
Overall I like the quality sound of it. They are a bit snug on my sons head (hes 10yrs old) it might be because of all the cushioningon he ear pieces. But it's a minimal problem. It was very easy to set up the headset to the ps4 console. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great chat headset at a low price.
On these headphones you can not control the volume of the chat and sound voice individual on the remote. Just like every headphone they do make your ears hot but they are comfortable.
Sounds much better than the TB headset i was using before. However, it puts a lot of pressure on your ears and the ear pads tend to get really warm after only wearing them a short time. I really like the volume controls and the ability to change chat vs game volume from the inline remote. Also, these have a much greater overall volume than my previous headset.
The PS4 Silver headsets are a good value. Excellent sound, good features, great price. BUT... I've had mine for only EIGHT WEEKS and the head band cracked just exactly where the other reviewers said it would...at the top, center of the headband. (My hat size is 7-1/4) The headsets are definately a SNUG fit. I'm sure they would be very comfortable for a smaller, teen sized head. BUT after an hour of use, it is just too painful to wear the headsets any longer. I won't be replacing the Silver headsets with another pair of the same. I'll do some shopping even if it costs a few more dollars. SONY...take care of this recurring defect.
Fantastic sound quality, breaks very easily though, will crack/snap at the top within 3 months. Can be relatively easy to fix with hot glue & super glue, 2 years later and im still using them and still has great sound.
It has great sound and the things are tight on your head, until it breaks. I see why the price on these went down, Sony was subpar on their silver headset.
