I received a free sample coupon for my opinion of this product based on my dogs preference. My yorkie who is 3 yrs old loved this food. I usually give him dry dog food but he ate all of this in one sitting. He usually never does that with the dry food. This is what he prefers from now on so I will purchase these from now on. I have fed my Furbabies Purina for over 16 years and they have lived long and healthy lifes, it is such a high quality wonderful brand that cares about your pets and gives them quality lifes. Purina One Smart Blend is just so amazingly good and she just eats it and begs for it. I like it gives her energy and her coat is so shiny. I am picky what I do give her she is close to 17 years young and she still runs like a puppy and I know this is the best food I can give her! I received coupons to purchase this product for Free from a Smiley360 mission. I picked up three cans of the food along with PurinaONE dry food and donated it to my local humane society. The dogs there went nuts! They weren't used to getting a special treat of wet food and chowed down as fast as it hit their dishes. They seemed to love the taste and the quality of this brand. My little BT absolutely loves Purina One SmartBlend True Instinct wet dog food! I mix a half a can with Purina One SmartBlend dry food. Jack prefers the turkey and venison flavor, but really, he likes them all. Since I started him on SmartBlend (wet and dry food) he doesn't seem to get tear stains as often, plus his coat is so shiny. He looks and is, really healthy! Yes, I received a free product for the purpose of my review however this opinions are 100% my own, and I had already switched Jack's wet food to Purina One's SmartBlend True Instinct after success with Purina One's SmartBlend True Instinct dry food. I've tried the Purina brand before, so I am excited to try their wet dog food complimentary for my review from Smiley 360. Since this is my first time trying wet dog food, I started by mixing it half and half with dry dog food so that both of my dogs could adjust. The packaging and design is a nice, hearty red color and the size of the cans remind me of chunky soup. You get a great amount of dog food in one can, so I found storing the rest in the fridge works great for me. On the back of the label it displays a feeding chart recommendation. Personally I was shocked on much they recommend for the pound to can ratios. If I were to feed my little 10 pound jack-pom mix what is suggested, she'd be fat in no time. Like the labels suggest, be sure to adjust to your individual dog's needed amount, giving consideration to their health, exercise and age. The can was very easy to open and pour or spoon the correct amount out. The cuts of turkey and venison are surprisingly large and look delectable for any pooch. Both of my dogs instantly smelled the flavors and went crazy. Having fed both of them a bit of venison before, they immediately knew the scent. Once I placed the dishes down, they devoured it immediately, as expected. I noticed that it took them more time to chew the pieces rather than the way they can inhale dry kibble. Overall I was really satisfied with the samplings I received and my dogs both seemed to love it, too. I would have to say I really don't think they need to add gravy, as that just seems like unneeded calories/ingredients and seems to appeal more to the consumer than for the health of your dogs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Ralphie, my dog wasn't too fond for wet food until he tried Purina One SmartBlends. He ate it all in one sitting. He never did that before. It must taste really good. He was a big dry food fan and don't get me wrong, I've tried to persuade him to eat wet dog food in the past. He would just sniff it and walk away. My dogs love a scoop of this mixed in with their dry kibble. I prefer to give them the tender cuts vs the ground stuff - it's easy to get out of the can and the dogs love the gravy. Smells pretty yummy, and has recognizable veggie and grain bits.
One can of Purina 1 is 1.68. 6 cans is over $1.68 but a Count 6 is 29.18. If I buy 6 single cans the cost is 10.08. I am not sure why WalMart routinely overcharges for items online but anyone who buys large quantities shud check prices.
