I love this oatmeal. It is easy to prepare and taste great.
Love that Walmart has a lower sugar variety option. I am on a weight loss plan and having an oatmeal with less sugar is amazing. It took a few pouches to get adjusted to the difference in taste, but now I wont go back to the original variety, tastes too sweet.
I like the flavors offered in the mix. The product is easy to make it takes 60 seconds. To change it up a little I sometimes add walnuts and extra dried fruit such as cranberries. I cook it in milk but also add a little of my liquid coffee creamer (French Vanilla) after cooking for a little twist. The texture of the cooked product turns out perfect every time. This is my breakfast pretty much every day.
Lower sugar is definitely its strong point. Fast way to start the day, or should I say? Break the fast. For some items available for shipping, and at a fair price, Walmart has zero competition, and this is one of those. 4 Stars.
I was on vacation and needed something quick, healthy, cheap and easy to prepare. The fact that it tasted good was nice too. Still plenty sweet even with less added sugar. Way to go Quaker Oats!
Monkfruit tastes much better than Stevia! This is now my go to quick breakfast in the morning, I love to add either pralines or walnuts, and a dash of real maple syrup. The only minor improvements to get it to 5 stars, add real maple syrup & a little less salt.
Why not just put less sugar? No need for sucralose, it makes it taste salty. I was so excited to switch to lower sugar since everything has so much sugar in it lately, but was so sad to see that the product has sucralose in it! Just put less sugar! It would probably be just as yummy! btw I was happy to see someone else shared my feelings - maybe call this style "diet oatmeal" with artificial sweetener and then put out another style called "less sugar" with just less sugar and we can all be happy!
So this is of no fault to Walmart. This oatmeal tastes so artificially sweet. It is gross. I love regular sweetened oatmeal and I accidently purchased this one Lower Sugar. Egh. Better off buying it plain and adding some honey to the oatmeal. Much better for you. Truly the taste is so off. Again, not Walmarts doing. It's just a bad product from Quaker. I am a big fan of Quaker but this product is horrible. Gave it two stars instead of one because I still love Quaker.
I thought the flavor changed a while back, but I just figured it was me. I noticed today that it's now sweetened with "monk fruit extract" which as far as I know always comes mixed with erythritol, which has been shown in clinical trials to build up in your bloodstream and make your platelets sticky, thus increasing heart attack and stroke risk... well that completely defeats the purpose of eating the oatmeal!!
After forcing myself to finish the entire box after a month's time, I have to say that the sweetness is an issue. The product has an extremely sweet taste, and a sweet after taste. It offended my senses. Won't be looking for it after this experience.
