This has worked so well for a pot I have that doesn't have a lid. Also keeps food warm after cooking is done.
I love this. I got one to use as a cover for soup bowls during microwaving (because sometimes the soup burps). This keeps the mess down. It turns out it also fits one of my saucepans perfectly (3 quart?), and I have a shelf in the fridge where the pan's glass lid with handle is too tall for that shelf. Using this, I can put that pan on the shelf. I plan to get a couple more in different sizes to use instead of wasting foil. All of the lids to my many pieces of corning wear are long gone/broken, so these will do the trick. (Not to cook with, just to cover leftover food.) I've tried picking up crockery soup bowls with the suction in play, and they held. I wouldn't chance carrying a bowl by the silicone lid, but I was just curious if the suction hold actually worked. Although I don't actually know how long of a life I can expect from this, I think in the long run, it will be cheaper than always using foil or plastic wrap to cover bowls, etc. And less landfill garbage. I actually use this on a daily basis!

Does everything advertised! Great for moving bowls out of the microwave. Great color too.
The suction lid does an excellent job of covering small to medium containers. Just place it on the container and it seals itself. The plastic lids that come with Pyrex-type storage containers do not last forever, and I was missing two lids due to damage. This suction lid was the answer to making the containers useful again.
