Great car seat, my daughter loves the purple color and the cup holder on the side. The seat doesn't take up a lot of room, but she still has plenty of room in the seat. She shares the backseat with another car seat and it is still comfortable for an adult to sit in the back seat as well. I love that she can sit in the car seat until 90 lbs with the 5-point harness as well!!
Love this seat! I spent a lot of time researching the best rated seats prior to settling on this car seat. I like that it has a 12 year life span and that the frame is steel so it is heavy. The fabric is smooth and cushiony and makes me wish my seat felt this good! Our just turned one year old transitioned very easily from his infant carrier to this seat and falls right to sleep. The padding is divine! Even the straps are padded! And the buckles are made of very durable material. With the padded angle adjuster, we gained 2-4 inches of front passenger leg room which was essential in our Nissan Pathfinder. We used the tether to anchor it to the floor for extra protection. I feel good knowing he is comfortable and safe. He can see out the window and riding has become more enjoyable for everyone! Diono customer service was very helpful in answering my questions, letting me know that their website has videos available for floor tethering and other important topics plus they gave me measurements needed to make sure the seat would fit! They advised there be a minimum of 30 inches from the middle of our pathfinder's seat to the front seat in order for the seat to actually fit our suv. They indicated we needed a minimum of 30 inches without the rainier resting on the front seat. This knowledge was very useful in determining if the seat would actually fit! We love the color, comfort and quality! (We chose glacier blue.) This seat is solid construction and gives you the peace of mind to know your child is safe. You cannot put a price on this! But Walmart did offer the best price and that was another incentive to buy. This seat is going to last! The tug, tug, pull motion to tighten the straps was a little different but just be aware it isn't just one pull like our Britax. I highly recommend this seat, Diono and Walmart! Service was quick and efficient. One more point to make is that this seat has generous rear facing limits, allowing us to sit as recommended rear facing much longer than other seats. I turned my 7 year old forward at age 1 but the recommendations are now to rear face a minimum of 2 years which I plan to do with this seat! If he's never faced forward, he won't know what he's missing plus he can see his 3 siblings very well in the rear facing position which I'm sure is more entertaining than the road. Good luck! Buy this seat! Be safe, not sorry.
My 3 year old loves it! He can even buckle himself in on his own. I have a small car (Nissan Sentra) and this fits great in the back seat since it is narrow. It is heavy though , however it comes with a carrying strap that you can wear like a bookbag or on your shoulder if necessary. The blue color is such a nice shade too. You won't be disappointed.
Excellent, Heavy Duty, Feels Great...after all they are have to pretty much sit in one position, little pricey, but worth it!
I was on the hunt to find a car seat to fit my large six month old. He's 30lbs and 31", with broad shoulders. When researching the seat, I was pleased to see that it was 50lbs rear facing meaning my big guy could stay rear facing for certain, until at least two. I opened the box, and inside was the seat, infant/toddler support inserts, and a cup holder. It's extremely heavy (due to the aluminum frame). The head wings are incredibly difficult to adjust. The seat is EXTREMELY narrow, and my six month old looks squished in this seat! He's already on level 3/5 for the harness straps, as well as my two year old. If you're looking for a seat for taller children, I absolutely do not recommend this seat. They will not reach the weight limits on the seat before they are uncomfortable/outgrow the height limits. It was an easy install both resr and forward facing, but the fact that the RF seat only has one recline level is throwing me off. My son tries to sit upwards in the seat and I cannot adjust the level of the recline without purchasing an additional part - a foam insert sold on Amazon for $9. This honestly should already be included with the seat as it seems extremely necessecary to keep your child comfortably rear facing longer.
