"Ravenous" had its origins in the historical Donner Pass disaster of 1846-47, in which a group of immigrants was snowbound for months en route to California. Exhausted, cold and out of food, the travelers had to resort to extreme measures in order to survive. An unlikely war hero. Five unsuspecting soldiers.
