This quiet, elegant-looking freezer is the perfect supplement to limited freezer space. I was worried about shipping damage after reading other reviews, but it arrived (California) promptly, and in perfect condition. Not only that, but the delivery folks brought it up my front steps right to the door, which is definitely above and beyond the call of duty. I am so grateful for this functional, efficient little freezer, and the black is especially nice looking. I did allow it to stand 24 hours before plugging it in; not sure if that was necessary but it certainly did get down to temperature quickly and is running quietly and well. That it's energy-star rated so highly is definitely another plus. A great purchase, and highly recommended.

After watching my freezer "fall off" of the truck and "rolled up" 3 steps to my front door, I was very concerned if it would be banged up or even working properly. This was addressed immediately with the delivery guy. Surprisingly no dents or dings were noted and it appears to be operating fine. Glad I purchased the protection plan. I will update at a later date if anything changes. So far great product. Good size. Plenty of space. Fits nicely in the area it was placed. Operates well on #4. Very little noise. Looks great!
Arrived with a dent smack in the middle so I wish they had packaged the whole item with styrofoam first n then boxed it but it came from across the country so who knows fault it was. Walmart did offer to send a new one but I accepted the adjustment instead because it was going to get shipped the same way it came the first time. The freezer works great, the inside is very spacious and it doesn't take up much space. Also it barely makes a sound. Ive been using it for about 10 days and so far I love it.
The freezer is great, but having it shipped instead of store pick up was not a good idea! Looks like they dropped it on the side. the box was a mess and the freezer is bent on the bottom corner! Fortunately it works great as I didn't have the means to return it for another one! It's black so you can't tell
This was an excellent freezer to upgrade to from my old white freezer that I have had for 25 years. The only things that keep me from giving it 5 stars is that the outlet plug is on the right side of the unit and it's visible to guest instead of being behind the unit. Also the hump/step rise inside of the unit over the compressor takes up valuable space. The last little annoying thing that bothers me is that it's somewhat noisy at times.
I read all of the reviews and knew I was taking a chance with this freezer. It is the right size, price and color. I decided it was worth a chance. The freezer arrived with a severe dent in the lower left corner although the shipping box was fine. I don't have a big enough car to return so I will keep it. Works well and quiet as others have stated..
worked to 3 to 4 weeks then would not freeze. Unit would go to temp. then shut off like normal but would not restart. lost over $350 in seafood and steaks. big hassle dealing with Curtis international and this unit. had to jump thru hoop. and give a dog and pony show. then they tell you they would only replace the unit. no repairman to be sent out. and NO REFUND>. DO NOT deal or purchase anything from Curtis International,. Again Buyer beware.... hopefully Walmart customer service will help with this.
I was quite leery of purchasing this freezer after reading all of the negative reviews concerning the condition the freezer was in upon arrival (whether having it shipped directly to their home or site to store). However, I really, really wanted a black freezer to match my other kitchen appliances and this was the only one I could find after doing a LOT of searching so I thought I would take my chances. Of course, I kept my fingers crossed that I just might be that lucky one who received one undamaged but to be on the safe side, ordered mine site to store so I could inspect it before I left the store (as one reviewer suggested). The second they rolled it out on the cart my heart sank. The box looked as though it had been rolled down a flight of stairs. Even the Walmart employees made a slight gasp and a few comments about the box's condition. They didn't even have to cut the bottom of the box to open it. The box lifted right off the freezer. By the time it was lifted half way off, three large dents were already visible. The front left corner looked as though it had been dropped (or hit with a hammer). Although disappointed, I knew this was merely cosmetic and not close to the compressor or close to anything that may affect it's performance so they continued to remove the rest of the box. This is when we noticed two large dents on the back corner next to the plug/vents and I knew right then I was not going to accept the freezer. I was heartbroken. I was truly looking forward to getting this freezer and hoping I would be that one lucky person who did not have the damage I had heard so much about from others, but I wasn't. About that time, a female employee mentioned that she was pretty sure they had gotten in two of the same freezers and went to the back to see if the other one was still there. I got a little excited thinking I may get my black freezer after all. She returned about two minutes later with a male employee who looked at "my" freezer and explained that the 2nd one had already been returned and it was in worse shape than "mine." By this time, there were four Walmart employees there and all were commenting on this company, their shipping methods, and the amount of returns they had dealt with. I do not understand what the problem is with Igloo and why they are continuing to use whoever is in charge of shipping these freezers. You would think that with this many returns they would get a clue that whatever they are doing or whoever they are using is not working and would do something to fix the problem. The only conclusion I can come up with is they have no competition when it comes to customers wanting a black freezer. I know for me, I searched for a long time and could not find another company that made one in this color/size. Maybe they are aware of this and just assume people will accept their damaged merchandise because of that. I am not one of them. I ended up going to my local "go to" appliance store in my home town where I have purchased all of my other appliances and purchased another freezer. It is white, but it works perfectly and is in perfect condition. I do not blame Walmart as I do not think for one minute this is a Walmart problem (other than continuing to deal with this company). I have ordered online from Walmart countless times before and have always been extremely happy with what I received. For anyone interested in purchasing this freezer, I would highly recommend against it. They have a major issue with their shipping practices and obviously do not really care or it would have been fixed a long time ago considering these same reviews go back for a very long time.
I won't bore you with how damaged the freezer was (LARGE dents on three different surfaces) but I'll mention the literal bigger problem. In the ad it says the freezer has Dimensions: 19"W x 22"D x 33"H In reality the measurements are 28 3/4"W x 20 1/2"D x 33"H. I have a specific place for the freezer, and this will not fit. I could not have kept the freezer even if it had arrived dent free. The size and price are the reasons I bought the freezer despite the negative reviews about the condition the freezer is in after shipping. The good news (?) is that when I called, Walmart offered to have Fed Ex pick it back up or the option to return it to my local store. I'm going to have to borrow a truck, but I thought the local return would be best. The box it arrived in had only a styrofoam bottom barely taped to the actual product box. I wasn't entirely sure how to package it back for shipping without buying a new box. They returned my money with no hassle.
