easy to use, seems to be a great lock. love it - wish i hadn't lost my second key already - LOL
I installed it on my boat trailer. It must be working. It is still right where I left it.
My wife said this reminded her of "the Club" for trailers and it is in a way. Quick and easy install with a bright color that keeps the honest people honest. I love how I can put this on or take it off in about 60 seconds with a feeling my boat trailer won't be hauled off easily. Worth the money.
Great product for the price
Fits great and keeps insects from building nests under the coupler of the trailer. We use it on trailers the we are selling at a busy intersection in a sketchy area of town, and have not had anyone able to steal one.
I have a lip around my trailer hitch and this lock is not wide enough to fit, which I found out last night when I had to drop the trailer in an unknown parking lot for the night due to truck problems. I rigged it to be used, but not the way intended and I am sure it is not a deterrent, but rather something to laugh at. Looking for one that fits today.
When I received the item, I realized that the unit was made cheaply and would never withstand a hit with a hammer, which would allow entry into my trailer. When I ordered the unit, I understood that it was made of steel when in fact it was an aluminum composition. I have since returned the product and purchased one of much higher quality.
The yellow part of this is made out of thin cast aluminium. It will deter the snatch and run thief from running off with your cheap trailer BUT you should not depend on it to stop the determined thief from cracking this off your expensive rig in a heart beat. I lost the keys to mine and I was able to remove this with a bolt cutter in less then 15 seconds.
Thieves broke this hitch lock off my Bulldog hitch, left broken lock on the ground and took my trailer. Lost almost $5,000 because I had no insurance to cover my trailer. The yellow part is made of what looks like cast aluminum and it will break and release. The chrome U-shaped bar was not damaged. I guess I got what I paid for. Only $20 worth of protection. Next time, I'll buy a solid steel one. But of course, Wal-Mart does not sell one.
The item I received was a knock off of the Reese product. Not in same package, No Branding on it, No "Made In" on it, No Patent stamped into it like the Reese product does, No Manufacturer info on package.
