This is an excellent hair product but the results are not guaranteed because each time you use it, the lightness in hi-lights varys. This is because of the timing factor. Sometimes I have used it for 25 minutes and barely see the hi-lights and other times you will find that some parts of your hair appear much lighter. In any event, practice makes perfect. Hair salons have resulted in my hi-lights being way too blond for me and by using this hair product, I can control the level of brightness. Also, depending on whether or not your hair is a much darker color, your hi-lights will vary. But, in most cases, read the instructions carefully to determine just how light you prefer your hi-lights to be, and you should be very happy with the end results. There is no other product out there, for this price, that will give you these types of professional grade hi-lights. I have found the hair products that allow you to simply brush on your hi-lights, end up with brassy looking hi-lights and not blondish.
I use this full length 3/4 cap for 20 min over my medium light blonde hair. I pull hair through every holes and grab a good amount 3-5mm each strands. Gives me amazing natural looking hair. I use the Color in Blonde. Second time I've done my hair with this, but I now used 2 boxes was perfect. First time wasn't as chunky wanted to be safe and only did top and a bit sides 1/2 cap. Luckily cos no way at my hair length I'd have enough product, barely made it. My hair is a few inches below my shoulders. View pics of my second time... just did them an hour ago, will give more contrast as I wash my hair :)
I used this to fix a mistake done at a salon. The hairdresser left the toner on too long and my hair was mud brown as a result. Revlon Frost and Glow blonde saved me from another trip to the hairdresser for a potentially very expensive color correction. Thank you Revlon
I loved the frost and glow in blonde! I just put a really pigmented purple shampoo on for about a minute and a half after I washed it out (left on for the full 60 minutes) and it's beautiful! Stay away from shimmer lights or any purple shampoos that are a light purple, get a really deep blue/violet shampoo like the Milkshake purple shampoo (it lasts forever, like a year). The only negative about this highlighting kit is that it helps to have another person to help you and you can get spots where the highlight doesn't go as close to the scalp as other parts, but it's great for what it is.
I am completely unskilled at doing my own hair but local prices are over $130 for highlights. I was really nervous but the instructions were easy and the cap made it simple. I only took very small segments through the holes and my hair looks really natural & GREAT!!!!! Everyone thinks I went to the salon, I can't believe I did this myself... Hubby is happy, saved a lot of time & money.... My advice is to take your time with the cap, use small pieces, and don't leave the dye on for too long, maybe 7-10 minutes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had no intention of dyeing my hair before I received this product but it had me convinced that I needed it! And I am so so glad it did because I love my new hair! I love the shade that it gives my brown hair. Obsessed.
I usually don't write reviews, but when something works amazingly well, it's worth mentioning as I'm one to look at reviews to help with purchases also This product is beyond exceeded my expectations. For the price, I get a salon looking color. I have dark dishwater blonde hair & this product gives me vibrate blond highlights I have been both to a professional & will use this is $ is tight. I've used this product 3 times & perfect results each time I hate the hat, so I actually highlight my hair using foils (tin foil) & because I've seen the beauticians do it, I part my hair into sections & zigzag the strands & do it that way. It's time consuming, but you get even highlights without that aweful hat. Even if you knew a friend who could do it. I also start from the back & leave it on for 60 min. A blow dryer will also help activate each section evenly. Just blow around your head aiming for the tin foil wraps. THE AWESOME HIGHLIGHTING KIT OUT THERE (& at 31, I've tried a variety of boxes products!) Posted before & after pics..
As promised here are pics of my hair in day light, indoor but near a window, and I added the pics of my process with cap to show the size of the strands. I can say that the negative reviews are most likely people who used the wrong color kit or had keratin process or henna before, that will garantie you will end up orange. I know enough about hairj processing to assure you that you will get amazing results with this kit. Additional info on my natural hair; I am a 6 (light brown) and I do my roots (and full length a while back) with a level 12 violet/ash from a pro salon color/wella with 30 volume peroxide. I used to get highlights every 4 months at a salon for yrs but reduced it to every 6 months for a few yrs, then once a yr as my hair was getting long. It was a yr with I did my first Revlon kit, then an other yr as indicated in my last review with a 3/4 cap... see other review.
Application process is simple you can use the cap or not . There are many different ways that you get a true value for ur money . Color result is on point scent isn't overbearing . And u get everything u need in the packaging .
Application process was easy. Color result was just what I wanted. Value is a fair price. Packaging was great I saw just what I wanted by the picture. The smell wasn't to strong.
