I used it on my Honda Accord 2008 with 212000 miles on it, the engine was idling rough with lot of noise. The first day after pouring I didn't notice any noise reduction but after a week of treatment I see the noise is very low.
I have been using Rislone for years. Currently have over 300,000 miles on my little truck and still get almost 30 mpg with very little oil loss on the original engine. Wouldn't think of not using it in all my vehicles.
I have a old 2002 Ford 4.2 V6 work van with over 100K that sits for extended periods and is used little. I simply don't change oil often as I put very few miles on my van. I change my oil every few thousand miles but my van is used so little that may take a year or so. However, I decided it was time to change the oil. I purchased this bottle locally after my normal go to product (Valve Medic) was out of stock. I no longer use oil supplements for the most part but I sometimes will use a oil flush or valve metic stuff a day before my oil change on older high mile engines to do more of a clean out / flush as my thinking was just use anything to help get any gunk out as my van does sit and is driven short distances. Not finding my normal Valve medic in stock I decided on this Rislone as it said it would clean deposits and I noticed when shaking the bottle it felt normal thickness ( like oil) , not thick like honey as in many other oil treatments as I was looking for more of cleaning action than a normal oil treatment so I though whats the harm in dumping it in the oil to help clean the engine a day or so and then change my oil as I'm not one to leave additives in very long if at all. What amazed me was when I added this bottle to my old oil, I noticed my engine ran smooth and I noticed this the first 5 miles or so. Honestly, I have never noticed any product make such a difference if any difference. My old V6 is under powered for a E250 work van and sounds and feels very labored when at hard throttle. With this Rislone added the labor sound, vibration, feel of my van became smooth and the overall laboring noise was much less. I would compare the improvement as dramatic and noticeable as when added a new set of tires, or new spark plugs, new muffler to any car as you notice it just runs so much better. I honestly can't understand why that much of an improvement but in my van it is like a tune up in a bottle. The next day after running this stuff in my old oil to possibly clean it a bit before my oil change, I drained my old oil with the added rislone then changed my oil with fresh quality synthetic and a new filer but this time minis the Rislone as I wanted to see if the improvement was actually the RISLONE and yes, even with fresh oil and filter change minus a bottle of Rislone the tired old engine returned so I drove back to the store and once again I add a bottle of Rislone this time to my fresh oil change and like magic my smooth V6 returned so I'm now at about 1,500 miles and my old Ford runs so much better! I will now be breaking my own "NO" oil additives rule as Im going to keep a bottle of this wonderful Rislone in my van oil at all times at every oil change. I wonder why the improvement as its not thick like some products that can for a time smooth out a tired engine but something about or in this stuff my van now requires and loves! I am a believer as I was not expecting anything but to clean my engine a bit before a oil change. Never have I noticed a car/ trucks ride improve from a bottle but my van sure did. If you have a tired or noisy engine based on my experience, I would try a bottle. If I owned a car lot I would buy it by the case and use it in every used car / truck I sold as it simply made my work van run like new and I think any used engine could benefit.
Have been using rislone every oil change for over 30yrs
I've been using Rislone (Originally Shaler Rislone) Engine Oil Treatment since the late 1960's. I was told about Rislone when I was employed by an aircraft mechanic while I was in college in Pittsburg, KS. Rislone has cleaned up many automobile engines internally which were filled with sludge, for both me and my clients over the years. It also prevents sludge from ever building up in new car engines if used regularly with oil changes.
I''ve used Rislone for several years now. Just turned 250,000 miles on my everyday work vehicle. Wouldn't hesitate to jump in it tomorrow and head to California. Didn't discover this product until that vehicle had a little over 100,000 miles. Eliminated all knocks and pings immediately. Almost entirely eliminated oil consumption. Highly recommend this product. I add it to all my vehicles after every oil change now.
called to give testimonial. It was suggested by friend and for lifter noise and sluggishness. After use noise went away and got more power.
