This was just what we were looking for! We put an above ground pool in this year and wanted a patio set that we could sit in and see over the side of the pool. We've been looking all summer and everything that we found was WAY too expensive. We found this set just over a month ago but didn't care for the $100 shipping cost (should have "ship to store" option). My husband surprised me and it was delivered a couple of days ago and we love it! The chairs are very comfortable and I also like that both the table and chairs have foot rests. It was very easy to put together...definitely need two people for the table.
I purchased this set approx 2 and 1/2 years ago. My sister had a similar set, but it only came with 4 chairs. As soon as I found this online, I purchased it immediately and have not regretted it a bit since then (puchase price & shipping fees). The chairs are very comfortable and the table gives me and my guests plenty of room for everything from cocktails to desserts! The table does need 2 people to put it together, who cares - most bulky items usually do - but, if you're looking for extremely comfortable chairs, a spacious table, and a classy additional to your deck, buy this today!
We shopped for months, on-line and in all kinds of stores (including specialty Patio and Garden retailers) for bar-height furniture so that we could see our lovely view over the deck railing. This was not only one of the largest sets we found, but one of the nicest, and THE best value ANYWHERE!!! Similar sets with only 2 or 4 chairs are going for 3 times as much. The only drawback was the shipping which added quite a bit to the price. However, even with the shipping charges it was still a great value. The set is beautiful - of excellent quality and finish. The chairs are a cinch to assemble but the table takes a little more work. Hint to buyers - slide the leg holders squarely into the center of each angle on the tabletop or else you will get to the last leg and nothing will line up! The delivery service was great - Bekins was exactly on time and contacted us well beforehand to set up the appointment. They were really nice about carrying it up the steps of the deck too! We have already enjoyed our River Delta Patio Set immensely - in fact, I am sitting at it right now, watching the boats go by and writing this review! The roomy table is perfect for dining, playing games, or just relaxing with a crossword and a cold drink. It is easy to clean and it looks GREAT! We've had several BBQ's and parties since we got it and everyone loves it! Walmart - the only thing you could do to improve this is to make it eligible for the "Ship-to-Store Pickup" program to reduce/eliminate the shipping costs.
I purchased my patio set in August 2006, in July of 2007 the welds that held the chairs to the pedestal started breaking. My furniture is protected from the weather, so I was somewhat surprised considering it appeared to be so well made. I figured that I had at least a one year warranty and started checking into it and low and behold, this furniture has a five year warranty on it. It took approximately 1 month of phone calls to figure out exactly who to contact, but it paid off! Turns out this furniture is from Brown Jordan International, they handle some very pricey patio furnture (I'm talking $2000.00 set and up). All I had to do was take pictures and fax them to BJI and they sent me brand new replacement chairs, no questions asked, no shipping charges, and I didn't have to return the old chairs either. And thanks also to the Walmart folks for pointing me in the right direction!
This really is a very nice set for the $$. I shopped EVERYWHERE for a set & originally wanted a regular rectangular set for my deck, but everystore was out of stock even on-line. I purchased this as a last resort option, but I am very happy w/the set. I love the fact it has 6 chairs, many only come w/4. There are a few banged up scratched areas, but they are not very noticable & w/a little touch up paint, you will never see them. I too was not real happy w/the shipping cost, but was desperate for a set. Wal-Mart would make it so much more convient to make this eligible for site-to store pick up. Ironically the umbrella & stand are all avail for site to store pick up, all of which I purchased. All in all a very nice purchase & I highly recommend.
We purchased this set about four years ago from our local store. We have LOVED it. We have had to perform yearly upkeep of pieces as mentioned in other reviews. i.e. sanding and painting of rust spots, but nothing major. We have not experienced the chairs breaking but we do clean and oil the swivel mechanisms every season when we uncover them from the harsh winter. Unfortunately our glass top shattered last year during one of those "harsh weather" incidents. We set out to buy a new set almost immediately. We went to every store locally and on-line. We were unsuccessful. We couldn't find anything near the style and functionality of this set. We would love to replace just the table but for the value, we've decided to buy this one again. It's that good. We have had many enjoyable gatherings around this table. It fits six chairs but it's the perfect height and has more than enough room for others to stand around! Extra chairs are never a bad thing. We have plans for their placement.
I tried this patio set at my daughters. It was so comfortable and well-built i had to order the same set with the extra chairs. High backs and cool mesh seats make this tall chair very nice for the warm weather. The one thing i would recommend is to check the color when you order. Instead of a moss green color, i received a black. Not as pictured. I'll keep the set is still looks good and its on the patio. Its a keeper.
I looked everywhere for a bar height patio set with no cushions that would need storage and eventual replacement. I was excited to find this set at Wal-Mart.com, bought it, loved it and bought a second set for the other side of my deck. It is a sturdy set, great leg/foot rest space, comfortably seats 6 and I will never need to worry about cushions blowing around and getting moldy. The only down falls are shipping costs-wish it had site to store option, no matching umbrella, and will need to get some black touch up paint for little chips in the finish.
Two of the six swivel chairs arrived rusted out!
We tried the set at our local Wal-Mart and loved it. We keep the set on a semi-covered patio to keep it out of the direct sunlight. (It gets real hot here in the summer) Last summer one of the chairs broke at the swivel section. One by one they all started to break in the same area within a period of about a month. We are down to 1 chair and one of the legs on it is rusted through. I have also noticed that the crossmembers under the glass table are starting to rust as well. Although we have used and enjoyed the set many times with family and friends I would not recommend it for the price.
