I bought this for my son to use in his vehicle with his M3P player. It has the extra adaptors, allowing him to plug in his laptop, phone charger, etc. It is everything we wanted and more. I would highly recommend this product!
I like the features of the product for that price.
I bought this to power, and transmit an xm receiver. it works very well for that. I tried a few of the transmitters that plug directly into the 12v outlet on the car and they didnt work well at all. I also use this inverter for charging cell phones in the car. I have even used it to run 2 strings of haloween lights on a hay ride trailer puller behind an atv, work great for that too.
Nice charger to have
Product gets hot fast, and doesn't seem to get a clear channel. I haven't tried it as a power inverter yet, but as an FM transmitter, it lacks considerably. Somewhat of a disappointment.
I bought it so we could watch movies and music from our laptop. Everything went fine as far as power inverting but the transmitter doesn't seem strong enough. I have to find a station with the least amount of static which comes in and out while tilting the box to try to get reception, thats annoying while your driving. its a great idea for a product but they need to make the cheap little transmitter just a little bit stronger. Oh and forget using it for movies and such because you will here static every time the movies isn't making noise
The power inverter, 12v outlet & usb works perfectly. The Fm tranmitter, (from my observation) would work well if the radio station were't to close to preset station on the tranmitter, or if you can manually set the statoiin on the tranitter. And also I observe that when traveling under an overpass that the static stops and the music is crystal clear. So 3 out of is not bad.
The device does work. But the fan in it is quite loud, and gets very loud if you tax it with a full load. Just as bad, the FM transmitter is extremely weak and full of static, no matter what frequency you tune it to. The devices is a neat idea that is poorly executed.
The day we got this we tried to use it. We plugged it in then plugged in my IPod. The FM transmitter worked for about 10 seconds then started blinkig and would not work any more. The USB plug no longer worked to charge my IPod and the standard electrical plug wouldn't even charge my laptop. We returned it for a full refund including the shipping charge. I do not recommend this to anyone for any reason.
This seems like a great combo of features (FM transmitter, USB charger, extra power socket, AC/DC inverter) at a great price, but there is a reason for that - it doesn't do any of them well. The main reason I got it was for the FM transmitter, and that was awful. I had to turn up the MP3 player volume all the way, and even then I could barely hear it on my radio, with lots of buzzing and static. You can barely read the digital display to see what channel it is set on, and mine would just quit transmitting randomly. If you read the fine print you can only use the inverter to power something like a laptop or TV for like 20 min before it overheats - not very useful. Needless to say, I returned this. Skip this and spend a little more on a product that actually works. (I got a DLO transdock micro, and that is worlds better)
