I got these today and hung them right away. I noticed my room was cooler within a few hours. And I was able to finally nap for longer than 10 minutes because these shut out almost all of the light. I ordered the liners made by Roc-Lon for my other rooms and cannot wait to get them. If you want your room dark when the curtains are closed or you live anywhere hot and want to help reduce the light bill, these are a must. And the blue was much prettier than on the website. They were a little to long but the non-seamstress in me used some Singer Instant Hem to shorten them and now they are perfect. (But I was the one who measured wrong, not Wal-Mart). I felt like I was staying at a hotel today when I took my nap with my room so dark. Thanks.
I love my new curtains. My husband thought that I was not home, because he couldn't see that any lights were on in the house, because the new curtains blocked all light getting out, too! I am very happy with this product. I would like to see these blackout curtains with some kind of design, or something to spice them up. The product is very plain.
The first few days we had this curtain there were many stubbed toes because we could not see anything when walking in the bedroom. My husband works overnight and he swears this curtain has greatly improved his sleep. We placed a few towels on the top to cover the space between the curtain rod and the window and that combined with the curtain blocked out all light.
These curtains block light very well. If sleeping in the daytime, the room stays dark. You cannot see thru them from the outside so they give privacy which is very important. They are plain but attractive. I wish there had been more colors to choose from. I have not received any energy bills since putting the curtains up but am hoping that they will help curtail the energy bill. I am very pleased with my purchase and am happy I spent the money.
I got these curtains because I work nights and sleep during the day. They curtains are wonderful!! They block the light completely and do a great job reducing outside noise. They are heavy and do not have the valance shown in the picture. But that is not a problem for me. Just make sure the curtain rod is strong enough. I strongly recommend these curtains.
While not the most attractive looking curtain... it does the job as far as the "black-out" function goes which is why I bought it. After buying a more expensive "blackout" curtain and bed bath and beyond that was laughable bad, this curtain was a pleasant surprise. It works! And the price is good.
I was looking for both thermal and blockout curtains. I bought both from walmart.com to compare. I prefer the blockout curtain over the thermal. I found out that the thermal has a thinner liner. The blockout(light blue) was made of a nice material but, what other reviewers have said is true. It does let light in from the top and sides. If you buy a curtain rod that curves toward the wall then, you can eliminate the light coming in through the sides. You would have to buy a valance that is flush to the ceiling for the light to not peek through the top. Overall, I am happy with the great job it does keeping the cold out and light out while my little guy is sleeping. Happy shopping!
They're not pretty but they do the trick. No light in our bedroom! My husband works 3rd shift, so that is really important. They're really stiff curtains, like something you'd see in a hotel room, but I've bought and returned so many curtains, I just don't care anymore.
The Ron-Loc Blackout curtains work good. They definitely block out the light. If you want to nap/sleep during the day, this will do the trick. The only downside is the way they hang. The blackout backing makes them bulky.
Curtains arrived all wrinkled and didn't come with any washing or ironing instructions. The back of the curtains is a white plastic material that resembles a shower curtain. Overall, these curtains were very ugly. Did block out a lot of light but I also wanted a pretty appearance in the room. These curtians did not provide that! I returned the curtains the day after I put them up due to the appearance.
