i read reviews on many different monitors before purchasing this one. i love having 2 recivers and that they can be battery or plugged in. i have great reception wich is amoazing i live in the country surounded by trees! i dont get any static unless i go in my hubby's shop wich the static is minimal. other sounds dont interfere and i like how it lights up when baby makes a sound. it picks up the slightest baby sound! you will be happy i know i am and it a good price!
It works very good and we can hear the baby as it breaths cough or crys We are so happy I gave one to my Great Grandson and my soon to come My great great Grandson in Sept.Thank you
I agree with the reviewer who said this product looks dumb.. it totally reminds me of the Jetson's. However, it is better than the Fischer Price monitor in my opinion. Sound is static-free, and it's overall more reliable. The night-light is bright enough to change a diaper, but it flickers when I first turn it on... a little annoying, but not a big deal. I will note that both monitors interfere with my wireless router, so when the monitor is on, my internet is intermittent. This is because they are on the same frequency. Some cordless phones would do the same thing. It doesn't seem to affect my husband's laptop (a Dell), but my Mac takes the hit everytime. Safety First suggests turning off the router and letting the monitor "get set" for 30 minutes... then turn the router back on. Didn't work for me, so I just don't turn the monitor on until I go to bed. I can still sneak in Baby's room, but may not be able to do this when she gets a little older.
Living in a 3 floor home with an aging Mom was beginning to take a toll on my legs. I spend my day in my sewing studio in the basement, and Mom spends most of her day on the top floor. Now, if she needs me or needs something from me, she can just call it out. No need for her to push any buttons, and I don't have to run up and down to check on her needs every half hour.
I bought his monitor 9 years ago. It has been through 3 children, and we all know what that means. Thrown around and beat up. I like to bargain shop and was worried the price was to low wanting to get the best product, thought maybe I should get something a little more expensive. Not the case with this monitor. It still works like brand new even after 9 years. I love this product and would reccommend it to anyone looking for the most for your money.. Dont waste money on a little more expensive because you think it will be better because you cant get better than this monitor....
We've used this for almost 3 years now without too much incident--but its becoming finicky (sometimes gets very staticky on either channel)--it seems other electronics in the house interfere with it, so it has to be placed in very specific locations to work. All in all a good buy, after over 900 days in continual service.
This product worked for a couple of months, but then started to suddenly become very, very loud for no reason at all. The volume control would not control the sound. Within a few months, it started doing this all the time. The manufacturer refused to help saying we had to have the original receipt, which we threw away after a month or two of use. Do not buy unless you keep the receipt and want to deal with a slow and unresponsive Customer Service group at Dorel.
I was really excited when as a baby gift I received these monitors that I could bring outside with me. However after the second time exchanging them with the same kind I continued to have the same problems. Whenever it cam near a cell phone it would buxx really loud and most nights it would stop working at all and I would wake to my baby screaming because it never came over the monitor. With having older kids they seemed pretty promising to hold up any treatment. I like the thought of being able to bring it around with me, but it failed to work even down the hall when hooked up to the wall.
This monitor was great at first but after a few months it turned into an awful inconvenience. The light on the base would go off like a strobe instead of a steady glow and sometimes it would turn on by itself in the middle of the night! We replaced it after the light on the base went out all together. The second one we had was fine for a couple weeks, then the lights on one of the receivers went out. The third one we had was returned because the lights on the base and both receivers went out. Now we are on our fourth set of the same kind in less than three years and the whole set is shot. The base light is out, there is something that rattles inside and we can't open it to fix it, the lights on both receivers are out and it either buzzes very loudly at random times in the middle of the night or it does this weird ticking thing. On top of that, our neighbors down the street can hear everything that comes through the base on their receiver of a different brand. Ugh. We have tried moving it, switching channels and nothing works. It is of extremely poor quality and we are done with Safety 1st now. This has been a huge source of frustration and we are still waiting to hear back from the company about our complaint. Again, it worked great at first, but don't be fooled...this monitor will NOT last!
I would not recommend this product to anyone! I have had this product all of a week and the light doesnt stay on more than five minutes and no matter where it sits in the house it is nothing but static. I am not happy with this product and if I still had the pacage I would return it for a full refund.
