I received this safety lock from Stellar Product Testing Panel to try and here are my thoughts: The product was incredibly easy to install and the design is sleek and clean. We've tried many other child proof options and this one has finally deterred my toddler from opening the cabinets! She's pretty advanced and usually figures out how to open things quickly, so the decoy button is a nice distraction and the pinch-to-open feature requires more strength than she has at the moment. The lock isn't confusing for adults nor does it require multiple steps to open and close again, which I appreciate as I normally am busy doing several things at once and only have one hand to work with! Very impressed with this product so far.
The Safety 1st Outsmart Multi-Use Lock is a solid door lock. It's a great option for refrigerator and freezer doors, especially if you have littles like mine who love to open but not fully close the fridge and freezer. The decoy button is genius. I really like that the static side had a hinge so that the lock didn't have to stick out when not in use. The only teeny tiny design detail I didn't love is that because of the side of the door I had to put the lock on, the Safety 1st logo was upside down. I wish it had the logo on each side so that one side was always right side up. *Note: I received this product to test through Stellar Product Testing Panel.*
When the opportunity came to test out the outsmart multi-use lock through the stellar product test panel, I was eager to get this my youngest daughter is 15 months old and is so quick to open up drawers that she shouldn't and I hated having to get up each time she was bothering items that I didn't want her to touch. This lock solved every.single.problem. The instructions were easy to read and within a minute of opening the box and reading the directions, I finally had a child proof drawer and easier state of kind knowing I would have to keep putting away random art supplies or telling my daughter no when she approached the drawer. The lock removes so easily that my five year old can get to her supplies when she wants to and my toddler can stay out! That means less times mama has to help and my oldest can keep being dependent and my little can stay safe. My toddler doesn't even get frustrated that she can't open it. She would poke at the decoy button but once she realized it wasn't budging she moved on and that area isn't as much of a hot spot for her as it has been. I will definitely be getting myself more for other areas around the house !
I had been looking for some random baby proofing items for around my house so I am SO happy I got this product from Stellar Product Testing Panel to try out! I have a VERY smart 18 month old who has mastered quite a few different items we had previously put in place to hinder him from exploring places around the house, and this lock passed the test. He tried pushing the "button" to get it open, and sure enough, the decoy worked! The design is genius, the look of the lock itself matches any room/decor, and it could definitely be used plenty of places for safety. It was super easy to install, it took me longer to actually read the directions than to set it up for use!
We received our child proof multi lock through Stellar Product Testing Panel and installed it onto our garbage can. The lock has a decoy "open button" and so far our 15 month old has not been able to unlock the garbage can lid. It definitely keeps her occupied though. The lock has hidden release buttons that are easy to open, even with one hand. The lock is also really easy to install, just set it where you want it and secure it with the sticky tabs.
The Stellar Product Testing Panel sent me the Safety 1st Outsmart Multi-Use Lock to review and boy am I glad that they did. As a mom of three safety in my home is a priority. I decided to install the lock on my oven door. My initial observation is that it was simple to install. Even the directions were easy to follow. The Outsmart button is truly innovative. It's made to look as though the button is what opens the lock, when in reality it's not. That decoy is what separates this lock from all the other locks out there. No matter how many times that button is pressed, that lock is not opening. With a crawling baby in the home, I can rest assured knowing he will not be getting into the oven while the Safety 1st Outsmart Multi-Use Lock is in place. I definitely plan on purchasing more of these locks and other products of the outsmart line to install around my home. I also plan spreading the word to my friends and family on the ease of use, aesthetically pleasing design and functionality of this product.
I love the Safety 1st Outsmart Multi-Use Lock. I used it to lock a bathroom cabinet to keep my kiddos from getting into my makeup, scissors, nail clippers, lotions, etc. The lock is not too bulky, was extremely easy to install, and has a pretty tight grip so it seems it will last a long time and keep the cabinet closed even with the kids pulling on the door. The decoy button is Amazing! It kept my kids from figuring out how to open the cabinet and gave them a few minutes of entertainment, it also tricked my husband at first. The lock is very user friendly, you just pinch it open and clip it back on. I would definitely recommend this lock. The lock was easy to install and did work very well in keeping my 18 month old out of the dishwasher. She's never really tried to unlock it, but the decoy button is a clever design that will probably give us a few more months of use once she tries to remove it. It definitely is an effective child proofer! The negatives for me are the limited uses and the adhesive. I can't think of how I would use this lock outside of appliances. I probably wouldn't use it for cabinets, primarily because of the adhesive. We've used this brand with this adhesive before, and the adhesive is so hard to remove. Even using the recommended dental floss trick, I spent hours removing chunks of adhesive and residue. I didn't really have another option for our dishwasher though, so it does its job! I received this baby proofing item from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have a 3.5 year old and a 1 year old so baby proofing is essential in our home! This lock was very easy to install (maybe 15 seconds!) The decoy button in the design is amazing. Not only will it fool your toddler but will also fool many adults! The design confused me a bit and at first I thought it had to be used on a corner door (which is why I installed it on our wine fridge), but now that I've installed it, I see that I could have used it on a flat surface as well. The look is a little clunky so I wouldn't want to line every cabinet in my kitchen with them, but definitely good for a select cabinet or two. Overall I am happy with the lock. Neither one of my kids has managed to figure it out and they have not been able to open wine fridge since it was installed, so that's a win!
I was given this baby proofing item to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'm a first-time mom so baby proofing was a new thing for me. My little one is starting to be on the move so I knew I had to act fast with the proofing!My first impression of this lock is that I liked the modern look of it. It wasn't cheap-looking like the old school baby locks. It seemed like something that would look nice on our furniture. Even though installation is super easy, I will say that it is a little scary to figure out where you want to install it. You really only have one shot to get it right. It's attached using stickers so you can't move it once you stick it to the surface you choose. I did flub this a little and didn't give the "1-inch" space like it says in the directions, that's my bad. However, it will still work as intended just will have a little more slack. The sticker is VERY strong so I feel pretty certain it's not going anywhere until I have to pry it off. I think the decoy button is really cool since my toddler loves buttons! She hasn't noticed it yet but I'm sure she is going to have fun with it, and it will distract her from trying to open this cabinet! I also like that it is pretty easy for me and my husband to unlock, but in such a way that I know my little one won't figure it out. Mommy approved!
