Added this TV to a Great Room where we used to have art above the fireplace. It looks great and allows us to have TV when we want it and art the rest of the time. No issues with the light/motion detector as others have complained about. It turns off at night and back on in the morning when I turn lights on or sun comes up.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a TV that didnt look like a TV and the FRAME is the only thing on the market that can accomplish this. I love it so much I purchased a second one for the bedroom. We just LOVE this art feature.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been seeing The Frame TV in my social media feed for a while now, so I decided to get one. I love that it shows art when it is "off", and I have had so many compliments and some people visiting did not know that it was a TV!
Using to primarily display photo art. Use less as a smart TV but it has all of the latest Apps that my older Samsung would not run (Apple TV, PBS, etc.) Our moderately priced Polk sound bar connected flawlessly via ARC allowing Samsung remote to control sound bar volume. When in frame mode can stream background music to sound bar via Bluetooth. Only quibble is limited number of matts for photos (2!) and limited number of matt colors. The full palate would have been appreciated. Price was great! $400 less than Amazon, Target, or Best Buy. Delivery team unboxed in living room %26 booted TV to prove working order. Mounting involved two brackets rather than the usual one. Instructions were comprehensive and only needed assistance with final lift to wall. 4 1/2 Stars
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Frame TV and a vertical mount (off Amazon, as out of stock at Samsung), after carefully measuring and realizing I could squeeze in the vertical display TV in my room. I saw the art advertised and have seen the Frame TV's art displayed horizontally @ a friend's, so I knew the art selections were beautiful. A big disappointment though, that so little art is offered, even with the art subscription, for vertical presentation. I so looked forward to losing the black hole of a horizontal TV & instead hoped to enjoy art displayed in a vertical format on my skinny wall. No big black hole! Not to be. Maybe 3 or 4 pieces (that aren't childish or silly and even few of those) are available. Otherwise, very happy with the clear picture, I like the “frame” concept.
Upon turning the television on for the first time I was made aware of a giant crack in the display across the top of the screen.
This TV has TONS of OS bugs. Constantly having to do full OS resets just to get it to work. Main screen displays VERY ANNOYING ads that you can NOT turn off (vs comp tv where you can easily turn them off). TV is loaded with Samsung bloatware that you can not delete. Picture quality is not as good as the competition. Extra hardware outside of TV is an eye sore. Competition does not have that either. Wish I had NOT purchased this.
I'm sure the TV is great, but unfortunately I can't even get it mounted. I've mounted about 8-10 TV's, and so far I've never had any problems with them. Unfortunately, this is not the case with The Frame. Every single piece of mounting hardware is garbage. I completely stripped the head of a screw the second it hit the stud (happened with every screw that went into the stud, the paper guide is a waste, the brackets are ridiculously difficult to level, the instructions are useless and hardly have any words, and all of this on top of it being for the most important TV to mount well. My wife and I started to consider returning it out of pure frustration. And again, I'd like to say, we've mounted plenty of TV's before. All of our friends were waiting to hear about the amazing Frame, but our recommendation is not to buy it unless you want to pay someone else to mount it. 0/10 on the mounting difficulties alone.
Many problems! Physically, the tv is not perfectly flat. It's curved on the vertical axis a bit. If the tv is on a stand, you might not notice but if you mount it close to a flat wall, the top curves out slightly. I verified the curve with my laser level. Firmware is complete garbage. Using the remote, when u press a button, sometimes the screen reacts quickly and other times it sits there frozen for a second or two. Many times you're not sure if you actually pressed the button so you press it again and again but then after the tv catches up, it jumps to some random screen you didn't want. During setup when a dialog boxes appear to set up vice assistant and you click skip, the box reappears on the screen but the remote control only changes things behind the dialog box so you're stuck with the box over the screen. As soon as you sign into your Samsung account, it immediately says signed out. I did a ton of troubleshooting and it's because there's a bug in the firmware and it can't handle periods (.) or plus signs ( ) in your email address! This is first grader level bug testing that obviously isn't being done by the developers. Overall, horrible experience. You will spend hours trying to get the tv set up and end up throwing the remote at the wall. Have fun if you buy this garbage.
I regret ordering this tv from this seller. First of all, my TV was delivered a week later than expected. Which honestly is fine, I understand that things happen. However, I would've expected some type of notification from the company letting me know what the change of plans were (a new delivery date). When we finally did get the TV there was obvious signs that the TV had been tampered with. All of the bags inside were opened and even the remote control was dirty. We reached out and they claimed it wasn't an open box, and Walmart claimed they would hold the company responsible, but no one ultimately did anything about it. I would have been happy if I were just allowed to return it, without the restocking fee that they demand, but no one helped accomplish anything. In hindsight, I wish I had just bought it from amazon. I will not be purchasing expensive electronics from Walmart again.
