I have a LONG list of things I like about this phone (which I won't bore you with - I see LOTS of fine compliments already!), and a short list of desired improvements/disappointments that I hope you'll address in future upgrades and/or next gen devices, a few of which are listed here: 1) No forward-facing camera for vid chatting 2) Skype not available (yet) 3) No Flash support 4) Incomplete Bluetooth stack (no HID) 5) No FM antenna (to listen to Zune via car radio) 6) SD card support: Should be able to use larger (64Gb) and/or swap cards. Thanks!
This if not now this will be the best phone out there. The design is amazing and Love the OS on the Windows Phone 7's. It is beautifully made and the user interface is easy to get around with. If you don't have this phone as your next upgrade or new. YOUR TRIPPING. ; 3 P
I knew this was a first generation Windows 7 phone from the outset. After some research and review I decided it was the right choice. It did take a little tweaking to make the data and MMS work properly with the Straight Talk AT&T compatible SIM card, though. Again, after some research and websurfing I found all the information I needed and got the phone working as though I had purchased it with a contract from AT&T. I do not recommend this phone for someone who doesn't posses a moderate to high skill in tweaking smartphones. Even though it's unlocked it isn't preset to work with any carrier's data plan and could cause some aggravation to the uninitiated. It came preloaded with an early version of Windows Phone 7 and it auto-updated (a huge mistake on my part to let that happen) to Windows Phone 7.5. After realizing the problems, I found a reasonable solution to sideload a modded version of Nokia's WP 7.8 and the phone has been a hotrod ever since.
Very good Windows Smartphone, lowest priced VS others at Walmart. Apps and everything is as expected and more. Battery life could be better, I had to charge this cell phone every 24-36 hours without heavy use. Main reason I returned is I needed a cell phone with long battery life due to my upcoming vacation to the Philippines. I cannot afford looking for a place to recharge in this country.
This is in no way a reflection of the phone itself but the functionality of the user interface. There are things I like about the interface, but some glaring shortcomings make you want to ask "what were they thinking"? If it's not fixed by the time I get ready to buy my next phone I'll just get a regular 'droid and add Apps that mimic the best of this phone. Too bad, could have been great.
I have had nothing but Samsung Cell Phones for my last 5 phones! Although I have always enjoyed my Samsung experiences, I didnt realize just how superior the Samsung was until I acquired the Focus! I love the screen size and resolution, the windows 7 apps, xbox live games, live tiles, ease of access. Too many things to list! Although there are some features that I would like to see on the Focus, they are always updating, and I am VERY pleased with this product. Thank you Samsung and keep those updates coming!
I was skeptical at 1st about havin windows phone coz m used to android but i never regretted it!i put 32gb micro sd & upgraded it to windows 7.5 for free& worked awesome for me!camera w/ video is great too!
I love the design and performance of the phone but found the hardware to be substandard. The outer screen developed a series of spider web cracks while in my pocket one day. Inner screen is fine and device works fine except for a few rough edges on screen. This should never happen on a mobile device. Display is also hard to see outdoors on a bright day.
If you want your own ring tone DON'T get this phone. You can create you own ring tones with a cheat prepaid phone, not with this. 1. Can't create your own ringtone 2. Can't hear the phone ring. 3. Can't close a website easily. 4. Have to reset camera setting everytime your leave/comeback to it. ei. anti-shake (but it workers good when it's on.)
The one feature they don't make obvious when selling this phone is that it's a Windows 7 phone. You have to read deeper into the specs to even realize what is really being sold here. I searched for an Android phone, and this one popped up in the list.. *not* and Android phone. And yes, it matters.. Search a bit and you will find many reasons to avoid Windows phones, and virtually no good reason to buy one. For the same money, you can find much better elsewhere.
