This is a solid tablet. The build quality is excellent. The unusually small size is still quite functional as a laptop. It performs better than I expected. The screen looks great. The battery lasts a long time. Windows 10 works as well as a laptop as it does as a tablet operating system, and Samsung's enhancements are high-quality and well thought out. The keyboard cover seems ingenious, but I did not see a place to stow the S-Pen. I bought a cheap USB-C hub for keyboard, mouse, video and power. It did not keep the computer charged, so I had to buy the Samsung-branded USB-C hub for it. It works great now.
I have used the Samsung Note 10 2014 for years now. I've never really seen anything that I want to replace it with. Then I saw the Samsung Galaxy Book. For the price, I thought I could give it a try. And I'm very glad I did. It replaces the Note and adds Windows which makes it much mor compatible for my work. It's not a replacement for the laptop but a great small tool to carry around for meetings and quick work.
When conducting my research on this product, I only reviewed the low ratings. After reviewing the negative remarks and realizing none were considered deal breakers I decided to purchase. Once I received the Galaxy Book I can tell you it exceeded my expectations and then some! I mostly use if for taking notes, checking emails, and creating spreadsheets while volunteering at a none for profit organization. Its compact, easy to use, and have the feel of a true laptop. Only wish I could down load my Texture subscription on it! :-)

Unlike a traditional laptop, the Galaxy Book is more versatile. For myself, the 128GB 10.6" is perfect & very engaging. Loaded with features such as a 5mp front facing camera, keyboard which doubles as a stand & Samsung Flow. Samsung Flow lets you manage content between the galaxy book & a connected device. A definite plus is being able to see new notifications on screen without having to reach for your device! When it comes to the battery ill say its fair. You will be able to do ALOT in a single charge such as watching movies or getting work done on its sharp brilliant display (which if I may say is very crisp). Alas I will say this, whether taking notes & drawing to surfing the web & watching videos, the Galaxy Book will consistently deliver what I deem a worthwhile experience. Pros: -Lightweight -Portable -Fast -Easy to setup -Expandable memory via SD Card -Beautiful screen resolution -Quick connectivity -Great battery life Cons: -S Pen holster seems flimsy but does holds -No Backlit keyboard for this model (just an option i'd like) -Does not include adapter for usb (sold separately)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm really loving the Galaxy Book. The screen is a good size and is really vivid. The keyboard is highly responsive although it has taken me a bit to get used to the smaller size. I bought an adapter so that I'm able to add a mouse instead of using the touch pad as it is more what i'm used to. I do wish that it had 2 usb c ports so that I could leave it charged in while at home at my desk. But, that's not a deal breaker as the battery life has been pretty good. I love how quiet the system is instead of how a laptop is noisy when the fan runs. I was able to add Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 and haven't seen any issues with that. I'm looking forward to taking this with me when I travel as it is very thin and lightweight so that it will easily fit in my backpack and will be nice to have an actual computer instead of just a tablet. I've noticed that facebook tends to not load pictures for me for some reason. Both in the app and on the website. Not sure why that is. But searching the web seems to work rather quickly otherwise. I still have other features that I need to test but overall this is a great replacement for my aging laptop. Although it doesn't have a lot of storage space. But, I plan on using a external drive when I need to save things.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very surprised with the speed of this tablet. It is able to handle multiple windows opened in chrome running video as well as facebook being open at the same time. Other computers with similar processor have difficulties. As others have mentioned the keyboard is not suited for being on a lap. I have been having some keyboard responsiveness problems, even as I write this review. It could be me not being used to it yet. The other problem I have been having is the keyboard falling over by its self on the dinning room table, also while I am typing this review. The pen is awesome. no lag noticed at all. I will update my problems as familiarity with the system grows. Thus far other than what I have mentioned, I think this is a good system.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been testing the 10.6 inch 128GB Samsung Galaxy Book. I am a power user when it comes to computers. I work in the IT field and game in my free time. My needs for computing tend to be high end and specialized. I thought this model would fit my need for a small but powerful on-the-go Windows capable system, and to a degree it has. I have used it to work on spreadsheets and documents while away from my home and work office, as well as for some entertainment, and even as a remote connection to perform some system tasks. I have found it to be under-powered compared to other market entries. I especially had problems related to battery life and charging. Unless using the provided AC-USB adapter it would not charge and operate simultaneously without the battery charge quickly going down. For it's size it has it's place, many low end users would probably find it sufficient for their needs, but these same users would probably find the charging requirements frustrating, and could probably find cheaper options to meet their requirements. Others who need more power and features would probably find their needs better met by a slightly larger, more powerful system with expanded interface options. The lack of any interface port besides the one USB-C was disappointing. There is almost no expand-ability. I used a Samsung 256GB Evo Micro SD but found it to be far too slow to install additional applications or rely upon for any type of data transfer that requires speediness. In my research I could not find any indication of a way to upgrade the internal SSD without voiding warranty I think the price point and features of this particular model may be spot on to meet the needs of a very narrow set of the user market, but see many other options that cater to a broader set of users for just a slightly higher price tag. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My expectations of this 2 in 1 were pretty high, but it came down to Earth when I opened the box. The packaging was okay, but I did notice a corner dent for transit. I received the 10.6 inch 128gb model and wished I had the larger screen model with less storage. Did not come with any dongles for the USB C, so unless you have some on hand, you are going to have a hard time using this with other accessories. Startup: Pretty straight forward windows 10 procedure. Make your profile name and password, which I connected my existing user account, so everything went very smooth. At this point, I thought I could flip OS to Android, but this is literally a Windows 10 device only. I was thoroughly disappointed to say the least!!! I connected the keyboard/case, and had a pretty positive outlook on it until I tried to fully use it. The keyboard was too small for my hands, as I have very big ones. For my Son or Daughter, this thing works, but not for you above average hand guy. I did like how the keys sprung back after you pressed them. One thing that I completely disliked about the keypad was the trackpad on the keyboard. You have a very small space to work with, as the size of it is about half a sticky note that is one and a half inch by one and a half inch. Who this would be great for: This would be awesome for the student with average hands, who needs casual browsing and minor paper processing. It is compact in size and travels great. The battery-less pen is amazing, but the pen holder tab thing is very awkward. Also, someone with smaller hands.
