The Samsung Galaxy S II it is my first smart phone. What fun it has been learning all the new features. It will be awhile before I can master all the wondrous features on this phone. I might add, the folks (Dee) at Sams cell phone department have been very helpful in answering my many questions.
I've had this phone for about 2 weeks. I chose it over the other similar Samsung phones because of the dual processor. My dad has one of the other Samsung phones that came out in 2010. There is not a huge difference in the processing speed, so that was a disappointment. The rear-facing camera takes really good pictures. Front-facing isn't as good, but it is a phone and not a camera so I'm not really concerned with that. It's a nice feature to use to take goofy pics of yourself and your friends/kids etc. I really like that you can have the flash on when taking a video. That is something my old phone didn't have, so if there was limited lighting I couldn't take a video before. Now I can :# This is my first droid phone. It was pretty easy to learn to use. My boyfriend has an iphone and it's pretty similar to that. #I had a Palm Pixi before this phone so it was a big change.) One of the main things I use my phone for is listening to music. I'm not too impressed with how that works on this phone so far. I downloaded the "free song of the day" from the app store and was somehow charged $1 by google. Also, to listen to it I had to download yet another music program because it didn't load on the program that was already on the phone. I haven't had a chance to plug this phone into the computer yet, but I am hoping that music is drag-and-drop and it won't be an issue in the future. There is a MUCH bigger selection of games and apps than my Palm had. But some of the games I downloaded for my kids cause "notifications" to come up on the phone (even when the game isn't being played) and if you accidentally click on them it takes you to a website. I never had that issue with my Palm but I guess that is an opperating system issue, not an actual phone issue (but again, I have never had a droid before - so I don't know for sure). I live WAY out in the country so the internet connection is hit-or-miss at my house. But when I'm on a WiFi connection everything loads really fast. The phone itself seems pretty sturdy. Overall I would say that this is a good phone so far. But I am glad that I only paid the $100 from WalMart and not $250 from AT&T. I don't think it's worth that much. Then again, I don't see a huge difference between this phone and the refurbished, slightly older version my dad got for free. So while it is a good phone, I'm not sure it's worth the high price (as most things I guess).
