I originally purchased this phone for my mother, as a "first" mobile phone. I chose this phone because of my personal experience with the Galaxy line of over the years. This device offers a great blend of function, style and durability. More than two years later we have switch her to a Note and I now use the S5 as a back-up device. This is a fantastic phone for those who just need a reliable well designed device.
My S5 has fantastic call quality. All the other features are icing on the cake. Fast. Great display. Superb camera. The camera blows me away. I chose the 5 over the 6 due to the ability to replace the battery, and having a SD slot. I'm glad I did. I love this phone!
the S5 is amazing. I absolutely love it. It charges ridiculously fast, while the battery lasts forever! The ultra power saving mode saved my phone while on a camping trip. Really reliable. The screen is bright, and sharp, and the soft keys (which I usually dislike) are very responsive. Only real issue with this phone is the charging port cover popped off fairly shortly after purchase. Managed to superglue it back in place /almost/ in the right place, but the water-proof-ness of the cover has been lost.
Coming from Blackberry, to iPhone, learning Galaxy & Android in general was no walk in the park. It has WAY TOO many bells and whistles for someone my age but once I took it to an AT&T Maintenance & Repair Center, I was lucky to get a dude who has one and knows everything there is to know so he helped me enormously in changing, removing, and setting other things.
The journey to and S5 started last year. I've heard the rumors, seen the Keynote, and wanted one from the very begging.It took me almost half a year to get to it. I had the money but my old phone did the job,never thought my old nexus would hold me back:(. So 2 months a go i managed to buy my S5 from an online retailer. Overall aspect: Think looking, easy to hold, just the write size for my pocket and the screen blows you out of the water, i mean even when it's the darkest it's still bright. Camera, works and it's fast if you have the write amount of light you can get some awesome pics. Night time not so much but decent for a phone. Display, when it's the dimmest it's still enough to beat the glare of the sun shining on it, and when you turn it up the colors just pop out. Hardware: So it's not the latest processor as of the S6 but i can give it a run for the money. No game or app on the market can keep up with it and multitasking is as easy as it can be. the fact that is water and dust proof, fingertip scanner, and counts my steps, all nice added features. Battery: 2 days morning to evening, all messaging apps on working primarily on wifi with a bit of 4g here and there, and a game or 2 at least once a day. what more an you want. Why i recommend all of this. well i just like the way this phone was built and the features on it. For the price and value of it.
Sleek, innovative, classy and functional. The S5 has all you need in a smart phone and has kept in sync with the brand's iconic style and function. There are many new features added to the S5 that surpass all other brands in its category that are inspiring as well as captivating. It's an enigma to how Samsung has brought everything to the forefront and has not lost the fuel that drives our imagination towards the future and beyond to hold an infinite lifespan. Keep listening to the universe Samsung!
So the s5 is a good phone. It is very durable, I have dropped it without a case multiple times. The only thing that broke was the glass on the camera. However, the phone is basically just an s4 with updates and has some issues after a while (i.e: freezes up) Pros: Durable Newest android (updated to 6.0) Water resistant! Cons: My phone started acting slow after a few months, but i bought it used and i have dropped it a million times The camera lens got scratched and in order to replace it myself, i would have to take of the lcd/glass screen and risk ruining it
This phone had a lot of flexibility and features. I really like the fact that I can adjust my settings to automatically backup my photos on Google Photos and save them on my additional memory rather than my phone. At first I was a little skeptical with the phone and didn't know if I would use all the features that were available to me. I still am learning today on what you can do with the phone. Overall great product!
This is a GREAT phone.. I love the display. The camera is GREAT, I do however wish the pictures came up better when zoomed in, but this is a camera phone not a professional camera, so, that part is understandable. I love the size of the screen. I love the S Health app, it's perfect for someone who is trying to change their lifestyle, or is trying to keep up what they're doing for their health a little bit easier. The heart rate sensor is great, not sure it's always accurate though, the same for the stress part in the S Health App. In the end, I'm happy I got this phone.
After owning several Samsung products, Samsung should be embarrassed to use such a cheap back cover. Since day one the cover was never tight. I would pick the phone up and the cover would fall off. Then I started to notice pieces coming off. Just not the quality I expected from Samsung. This phone is just OK due to the sound quality being sub par with the S3 it replaced.
