[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The era of diverse folding phone form factors has begun!!! I absolutely love this phone. I am a millennial, and in my opinion it is our generation that always popularized any new form of technology that has been launched since the 90s be it Nintendo, SEGA or the first PlayStation gaming console. We also popularized Facebook and Instagram. And so it was also us who made mobile phones famous in the early 2000s. I remember back in 2001 when my dad bought the Samsung SGH A200, I was so stoked as the phone was one of first flip phones with two screens. I felt the same when Sony Ericsson T630i came out in 2003 and then Nokia 8800. And so 2000 began an era of different form factors be it simple, flip, sliding, swivel, gaming phones (NGAGE), or touch screen. Hence, form factor was a big part of deciding whether to buy a phone. This trend then phased out in 2010 and onwards as we only had simple slab style touch phones which got so boring. Thus I am glad with folding phones, we are going to see multiple different forms catering different purposes and styles in this decade, and this really excites me. Moreover, I switched to Samsung due to the Note series starting from Note 9 and then to Note 20, as I use the S-Pen for my work. But, overtime I felt like I need extra screen space to represent my ideas in form of graphs and stuff, so I started looking into Tablets. And around this time, Samsung sent me the Z Fold 3 reserve email, and the deal was so good. And since F3 is a 2 in 1 (tablet + phone) along with S-Pen support, I bought it. I absolutely love the phone, it's a power house, it caters to all my needs plus it looks super cool and is an eye catcher people compliment it all the time!!!
Bought the samsung galaxy z fold 3 a bit more than a year ago. Just loved the phone! Until inner screen just cracked yesterday. And now a big black ligne appeared in the middle rendering it unusable! To be known this wasn't my everyday phone so it is not like I wore it down by heavy use since I only used it at home after work. A lot of people seem to have the same problem and it looks like samsung is refusing to admit that their product is faulty!
Amazing phone I really loved a lot so much so that I didn't upgrade to Zfold 4. I was going to wait for 5. Big mistake bought it August 21 by November 22 3 months after the end of manufacturing warranty the fold center died now have a lack line on it and big screen barely works. I did upgrade fold 2 to 3 in a year so I wasn't árabe of issues. Didn't expect this to happen. Their solution upgrade to Zfold 4. So if you ok changing phone every years this is phone for u. If plan to keep for a while is not. Google it I'm not alone with this issue. Some died in 3 months. Support wasn't surprised with the issue.
I have no problems with it. It is just that I'm not that super excited about it. First, I like the screen size of my old Note 10. It is a lil hard to type on the front one of the fold3. Imagine if it had the screen size of my Note 10, I would be like WOW! Second, the pen it is not included. I have to buy a new one and a protection that can carry it; and this one does not let to place it flat on a surface. Third, they removed the audio jack hole. I do not know about you, buy for me someone looks "sexy" with a cord hanging from the ears than someone wearing a wireless ones. I can no longer use my earbuds. I have to buy new ones. Fourth, they only provide cable without charger. And fifth, so far all phone protections do not protect completely from scratches or cracks if you drop it to the ground on the middle section of the phone. Overall, I wish this new Fold3 was the size of the Note 10 I had for better typing on the front screen and AMAZING experience when unfolding it. That would leave room to store the pen (included with the phone) and still have the audio jack hole for my corded buds. It is just the unfolding experience and supposed faster service with this new Fold3.
This phone is the most expensive on the market. At that price you would demand no sacrifices. With this phone you will have to make sacrifices though, like with the battery, do NOT expect to watch youtube, or videos. You will have to limit your time on that. You will have to limit your time playing games, because the phone simple dies too quickly. The camera though, that is a HUGE sacrifice, I took a picture of my pugs and attached it, it was just impossible to get them to look crisp, or not blury. I tried factory reset, updates, and nothing helped. I have other gripes, like how hard the front screen is to use with Android 11 gestures with ANY case. But my main gripe was how at 4pm with little to no use would be dead, and the pictures are a HUGE step back. My advice, check out my pictures, and get a different phone.
Bought the z fold 3 September 3 and made it all the way to December 31st. I opened the fold and black line down the seem and a dead right screen. Currently waiting to get into a phone repair store. The Samsung customer service rep claims it will be covered under warranty. Not very happy with Samsung. They should be sending out replacement phones to everyone having screen issues.
When I decided to come here to leave a comment, I saw that most of the comments on this folding phone pointed to various usage problems in the center line of the inner folding screen. At first, I thought it was just my phone that had this quality problem, but now it seems that there is a very serious quality problem in the folding center line of this Samsung foldable phone. Samsung's advertising says: The folding life of this folding phone can reach more than 100,000 times, but it seems hard to believe now. ((I have this mobile phone, this problem has only been used for 4 months)). I can be a big fan of Samsung, I own several different devices from Samsung, and I also introduced this folding phone to my friends, ((Unfortunately, unfortunately, my friend's phone also has the same type of phone. This quality issue )). Here, I hope Samsung can help us solve the inner folding problem of this phone!.
Inner screen broke with normal use well under the 200,000 folds / 5 years advertised. Still has the factory screen protectors, has never been without a case, never dropped, no water damage. And yet the inner screen is dead, area right down the center is black and right side doesn't work at all. Be sure to buy the insurance.
Phone was amazing while it lasted. That was about 6 weeks now half of the screen is non usable and has a large black line on the crease with a green line going the other way.
